Hi it's James and Greg, we're professional photographers & qualified guides. We specialize in small group, private and tailor made photo tours. We also teach photography with one on one tuition tailored to your level. We were the first company to offer photo tours in and around Cape Town and one of the first to offer photo tours to Namibia way back in 2012. We wanted a Cape Town tour and some advice on photography. Other than insisting we meet at 5AM to see sunrise everything was excellent. He had an itinerary planned out so we would see the city with the light in the best location. He is easy going and very helpful. We ended up inviting him to dinner when our cruise returned in 2 weeks.

The tour provided by Greg was relaxed, safe and informative with great photography locations and opportunities. Greg is warm, friendly and immediately put us at ease. The tours were flexible and Greg knows all the best coffee shops! We enjoyed the Cape Point, V&A Evening, City and Township tours and would highly recommend them. As well as photography guidance and expertise, Greg also offered history and local interest along the way.

Amazing photo tour with Greg !

I did the Cape Peninsula tour with Greg and it was an amazing photo tour (and so much more... almost could be a food tour as well) ! We started early at signal hill to get great sunrise pictures. Then we toured awesome locations all around the peninsula (colored beach huts, harbours, penguins...) ans beat the crowds! Greg gave me great tips all day long to improve my pictures and experience new things. You can tell he knows this place inside out and that he loves to share his knowledge and his favourite places with you... The booking was really easy and when the weather turned out to be stormy on the day of my initial booking, Greg very nicely changed the day of my tour to make sure I would get the most of it. The day was over way too fast. Thanks Greg for the wonderful memories and discoveries.

Cape Town & Peninsula Photography Tour

Spent a great day with Greg on a Peninsula Tour. It was our first visit to Cape Town and this was a fantastic way to visit some of the best Photography locations and see the area. Greg was an excellent guide, providing us with a lot of information about the various locations as well as giving good photography tips and advice on how best to shoot the scenes. Be prepared for an early start, we were met at our hotel at 5.30am but it was definitely worth it as we were in time to shoot the sunrise from Signal Hill and we beat the crowds on our visit to Boulders Beach to see the penguins.
We would definitely recommend this tour and would definitely consider another tour with Greg & co.

A highlight of our trip to SA, we had a superb day with Greg. He has such a vast depth and breadth of knowledge and experience on all aspects of photography, Cape Town and environs. We learnt so much and we would highly recommend spending a day with Greg whatever your level of photography.

Excellent photographic workshop

Greg was an excellent tour leader and photographer. He came up with an itinerary that combined photographic opportunities as well as cultural highlights.
Highly recommended for all, especially those with an interest in photography. Would definitely seek out their services again for future trips to CT.

He hired Greg to take us to some locations around Cape Town and then to venture into the Cedarberg and Hantam Karoo. We were not disappointed. Greg also has an interesting photographic perspective which was great whilst enjoying the urban setting of Cape Town. He was also well versed in the local dialect and was helpful in navigating our way through the local towns in the greater western Cape area. We came back with some wonderful photographs of locations we would have missed. I highly recommend his services. Did I forget to mention he is a master in the art of braai?

We took the Township tour and it was one of the best trips we’ve done. We took loads of great photos, met some really interesting people and were taken to places tourists don’t normally see. Greg was an excellent guide and shared his knowledge and experience throughout the day. We can’t recommend this tour highly enough. We’re returning to Cape Town next year and will be booking more tours with Greg.

Excellent three days photo tours in Cape Town

I’m very luck I made right decision to let Greg Hillyard give us three days photography tours in Cape Town. I’m a landscape photographer but also interested in social contrasts too. Before the trap Greg provided me a very detail plan to meet all my requests.
The first day we got signal hill just before the sunrise, it gave us an opportunity to over look the Cape Town. Then we took the photo at a tranquil beach with colorful beach houses. We had a coffee and snack at a famous little local bakery. Afternoon we headed through to Cape Point. Since there was no wind we moved to the Camps Bay tidal pool. It is very beautiful.

The second day is a day of social contrasts and historic landscapes. We started at Bo-Kaap and had a the township tour in Langa. We took pictures for the people, buildings and streets. Big contrast. We moved to fresh green vineyard afternoon and stayed overnight in Franschhoek.

The last day is a long day tour. We catched first light at Theewaters Dam. We traveled through the Hemel en Aarde valley to Hermanus where we joined local whales festival. Leave the festival Greg drove along Clarens drive we got our last shoot for the final light.

Best trip!

Greg stepped out of his usual photography tours for myself and my friends. He took 6 of us on a 10 day tour of Johannesburg and Capetown. During the planning stages we told him where we wanted to go and he put together an itinerary for us. We arrived to South Africa with no stress as transportation and events were already planned. He even booked our dinners at popular, hard to book restaurants. He went with us to every destination and was very flexible if something needed to be switched around the same day. Our trip was for New Year's so it was a very busy time and some of the popular places got crowded quickly and needed to be rescheduled to another day. His driver John was amazing too. He was always available and very flexible with our very busy and full schedule. I would definitely recommend Greg's tours because I had the most stress-free,and eventful trip that anyone could ask for. My friends and I had a blast and wouldn't change a thing!
