We have never used a tour company before. We normally book everything ourselves as we don’t like to be “ scheduled”. When I started trying to plan our trip to South Africa I quickly became overwhelmed at the choices and had some concerns about safety etc. I started looking at USA based tour companies at the recommendation of several friends that had used previously. I found reviews of African Sky on trip adviser and wanted to give a local company our business as I felt they would know the area better than one based in the USA. From the first contact with African Sky I felt like they genuinely wanted to work with us to create a memorable trip. I gave the dates we wanted to come, areas we wanted to see, things we wanted to do and they came back with a package and price. We even called to verify some things and felt right at ease after talking to Riann and made our decision to book our trip with them. They took care of everything! Met us at the airport, supplied a private driver at each of our locations with tour suggestions and transfers to any excursion. Our private guide, Amanda, in Cape Town was phenomenal! She was knowledgeable, polite and fun to spend time with. We felt like we had made a new friend in South Africa! She rearranged our schedule in Cape Town based on weather to be sure that we had the best possible experience each day. We had the afternoons and evenings to ourselves so we could explore more or just relax and have some down time. I highly recommend African Sky and will be giving their name to all my friends planning on a trip to Africa.

When we started our planning for our South Africa trip it became very quickly apparent that there was an overwhelming amount of options. We turned to African Sky and they did an incredible job in putting together an itinerary that included all the things we wanted to see as well as great suggestions of what might be of interest. Andrew was very helpful and patient, answering all our questions, and putting together a personalized trip for the four of us.
During our trip from the first moment we arrived African Sky took excellent care of us. We could 100% rely on them for being there and doing everything they could to make this a unique and unforgettable experience. Andre who guided us was incredible. He had so much knowledge and answered our many questions, from animals, birds, plants, foods, and the myriad of questions about the history and people of South Africa. He booked great restaurants, and helped us with lots of local knowledge wherever we went. He was flexible and as he got to know us and our interests, he went out of his way to add and customize experiences for us to meet our interests. We felt that not only did we had a great guide but somebody who truly cared about us and wanted to make our experience special.
What sets African Sky apart from all other tour companies is, that they truly care, something that is rare to find. We would book another trip with them in a heartbeat and can only recommend them to anybody who is looking for an exceptional experience in Southern Africa.

This was the best trip I’ve ever been on, and I have been all over the world many many times. Andrew, the planner was awesome Andre our guide was also awesome. Everything was on time on schedule the best hotels we are allowed to tweak our itinerary. Andrew got us on the best golf courses, and in the best private lodges in Kruger. I would highly recommend this group and would do it all over again.

Highly recommend African Sky. Our trip to South Africa could not have gone more smoothly. All the details, big and small, were professionally planned and executed by Andrew. Our tour guide, Andre, was so well versed in everything SA. He made the trip special with his preparedness for each day, making sure we got the most out of each day including unique, breathtaking and enjoyable stops. As the trip progressed and he learned more about us, he added in special activities based on our interests. He was able to show us the beauty of South African history, wildlife and people in a way we would not have been able to do on our own. It was such a memorable experience, etched in my mind. By the end of the trip, it was like saying goodbye to a close family member.

Can't say enough good things about African Sky Safari's & Tours. Our honeymoon was supposed to occur in June 2020, but was delayed due to Covid. Andrew was in regular communication with us over the course of three years to coordinate a time that worked best for us. The deposit we made in 2020 was honored and the itinerary stayed the same. The trip was perfectly organized and logistically couldn't have been more effective. All of our tour guides were on time and the daily itinerary was effectively communicated to us on a daily basis. Expectations were exceeded day in and day out, we could have not asked for a better experience than African Sky provided. Special shout out to Andre Hamann who was our tour guide in Cape Town. What an amazing human being to meet and interact with. Would strongly recommend working with African Sky to coordinate your travel to South Africa and surrounding countries. We will be utilizing them again any time we visit South Africa, which we hope will be an annual vacation destnation for us.

This was my second safari with African Sky with Andre as our guide, and I wouldn't do Africa without him. Our group of four found Andre exceptional in every respect, including his knowledge of all aspects of African flora and fauna, our travel route, accommodations, and meals. And he delivered this with the utmost care and concern, ensuring personal attention to everyone's individual interests in the group. I can say without qualification he made our safari the best it could be in all respects.

Andre' Hamann our guide was terrific - always 15 minutes early and always prepared for everything. Informative, funny, flexible (you have to be when you have a group of 12 of us!) and the man can see a Kudu from 500 yards away and a whale before even the Whale Crier in Hermanus can blow his horn. In 4 days with Andre' we saw/cable car'd our way to Table Mountain, Lionshead, the Cape of Good Hope, Penguins, Wine Country, Hermanus / Whale Watching and we got to love and know Cape Town like not many people have ever seen it. Thanks to Andre' and also thanks to our driver TooFeak (I know I misspelled that one) who was equally as knowledgeable and drove us from place to place with a smile on his face and insights and answers to our questions whenever we had them.

This is the second time that we've toured with African Sky...once in 2016, South Africa and Zimbabwe, and again in May 2024, Botswana and Namibia. Both trips were expertly managed by African Sky. We had Andre Hamann for our tour around Cape Town in 2016 and for 9 days in Namibia in May this year - what an excellent guide. We thoroughly enjoyed Andre's expertise, care, humor and organization. We had such a great time. Botswana and Namibia are both special countries, very different, equally amazing - animals, landscapes, local hospitality...they had it all. I would not hesitate in booking another trip to Southern Africa with African Sky again - and with Andre!

From start to finish, Andrew made my planning of this trip of a lifetime for my son and family as easy as possible. He responded to every email promptly, with good suggestions and advice. I had total faith in Andrew and the company African Sky. My son and family had a fully escorted tour and safari from Cape Town and everything, from the first airport pick up to the last drop off, including guided tours, ran like clockwork. My son and family had the most amazing time. I cant thank Andrew enough for his help in making this so special and I would have no hesitation in recommending African Sky and Andrew Harvey, to anyone wanting to book a trouble free holiday in South Africa.

I booked Andrei (driver) for a few days of tours around Capetown in August of 2022.
We were picked up at the airport and dropped on the first day at our airbnb in Camps Bay.
The next 3 days we were picked up in the morning and treated fantastic as we had adventures with wine tasting, auto museum, touring the major sites of Capetown and surrounding coast lines.
Our driver Andrei was funny and full of info and we learned a lot and I felt like we made a great friend on the adventure. Vehicle was clean and we felt safe and looked after at all times.
A definite 5 Star!

We are just starting to plan our trip, can anyone recommend a tour company that will help you decide where to go, how long and other destinations to visit after our safari.

Prior to our 1st trip to Africa, I did a lot of research and African Sky Safari & Tours reviews came up trumps every time, We initially dealt with Andrew Harvey, a representative of the company, and his responses were very prompt, informative and friendly. Everything went like clockwork and we couldn't have been more delighted. if you chose African Sky Safari & Tours, you are in for a fantastic holiday without any glitches - at least that was our experience. Consequently, we're planning on another holiday with African Sky Safaris & Tours and I am so pleased to be able to provide this answer
One tip would be to ask as many questions as possible before your holiday, so that the company you finally choose can provide you with all the information you need, they're not mind readers, so they need to know exactly what you are looking for in your overall holiday requirements - so have a great holiday, Fortunately we saw all the 'big 5' during our 8 day holiday, thanks to African Sky Safari & Tours, and a bit of good luck thrown in - hope this helps!

I want to know how many days are enough because we are planning a 10day trip to South Africa. Interested to see kruger national park and cape town. We are going to be 4or5 of us. When is the best time to visit.

Why did they discourage the tour to Victoria Falls we are thinking of a 7 day Kruger and Victoria falls.

Hi depending on your arrival and departure timing for connecting flights, you may have less than 7 days to enjoy the holiday in Africa.
I flew in and managed to connect domestic flight to Kruger National Park on the same day. However, I needed to stay one night in Johannesburg for flight transfer to Zambia for Victoria Falls, then stayed one night in Johannesburg for flight back to my country.
I would think that a minimum of 2 nights in Kruger National Park is required for better experience. I stayed 4 nights and I managed not only to see all Big5, but many other animals including lion hunting twice.
For Victoria Falls, I spent 3 nights in Livingstone and it was just nice. But if your intention is simply to see Victoria Falls, 1 or 2 nights would be sufficient, depending on your flight time.

We were interested in the 21 day South Africa Tour that goes to Kruger, Namibia, and Botswana with flights between major attractions. It is a five star tour. Can this be done as a four star tour?

Hi Normand,
If I understand you correctly, we can help you with a safari - but not in the Cape Town area. There are a handful of so-called safari lodges within driving distance of Cape Town but they don't offer an experience which matches a safari in the Kruger National Park. We recommend you fly from Cape Town to Kruger (a direct flight) and do your safari there, before returning to Cape Town again.
