Excellent Dinner

My husband and I went to Gold our first night in Cape Town and had a great experience. They offer a 14-course meal with vegetarian options. Absolutely everything was delicious. There was face painting, drum lessons and entertainment between courses. It sounds like a lot but everything works together very well and was a lot of fun.
The service was also excellent.

At our last evening in Cape Town/ South Africa, my husband and I went to the Gold restaurant. We had a great experience and eat a 14-course mail with African food. All with a eving full off entertainment. It was a fantastic ending of our holiday. Thank you!

Enlightening Spice Experience

I booked this experience not knowing exactly what to expect. Needless to say, it was a pleasant surprise. Cindy, the owner gave us background information about the origins of the various spices which was very informative and interesting. Irene, our guide, who was just as knowledgeable was with us the whole evening ensuring that we were well taken care of. We had a private singing, dancing and drumming show as well. This whole experience transcends you and it is as if we had stepped into another world. It was an absolute treat and something that should be experienced if you are looking for a decadent, memorable experience.

Delightful surprise

I am not usually one for these canned venues and experiences but I thought Gold was excellent on all levels (I went to do a site inspection for a group of doctors that are attending a congress that I am project managing this year). For starters, the venue is delightful and done to a high standard and spec. The waiters were pleasant, polished, professional, knowledgeable and efficient (and clean and neatly dressed) - everything you want in a service person. The service was excellent! The food was surprisingly delicious - always tricky to produce so many courses for so many people - but they managed. Personally-speaking, the food was fresh, delicious and of a high standard. Only two of the dishes lacked - one was a little too oily (but full of flavour); the other lacked seasoning. And, finally, the entertainment was excellent too - just enough to keep you delighted and interested and intrigued and absorbed, which is not always easy to do as a South African who has seen something similar on many occasions. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and I highly recommend it to everyone, including Capetonians and other South Africans.

Worth Doing

This was our first dinner in Cape Town and it was a great way to get into the African spirit. The entertainment is fantastic, the tasting menu allows you to try a ton of local food, and they accommodated me as a vegetarian no problem.
