Cape Town had a lot to offer in its rich history of natives, culture- dance, music, food, museums, clothing and accessories. A leaning experience like no other. You will learn about the struggle for equality and human rights. You will learn about different ethnic villages and tribes. It's just an amazing celebration of the life and culture of a country past and present.

We had read on other TA reviews, about the personal service that Roger offers and contacted him in advance of our trip to Cape Town and am glad that we did as he was fairly booked then. His communication with us was excellent from start to finish and we made arrangements for an airport pick up and a booking for a winelands tour before we left England. On arrival in Cape Town, we were met by a colleague of Roger (Roger himself was unavailable as he was on another tour), who dropped us at our hotel. We then went on a winelands tour with Roger later in the week, along with another customer, lasting the whole day with a stop for lunch. Roger was great company and entertainment, his knowledge and passion for Cape Town was really fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to heartily recommend Roger for all of your tours in Cape Town.

Excellent is the very least we can say about lovely Achmat! He greated us with a warm smile when we landed in Cape Town and his joyful spirit, kindness and ability to answer any question never waned. Achmat and MyTours was quick to respond to all inquiries and flexible with schedule changes. My group of 6 was looking forward to this trip for months and it did not disappoint!!!! We can't wait to return to see Achmat, and the Western Cape of course.

I booked 4 tours with this company and for the Robben Island tour Roger asked that I buy my own ferry ticket. I did so and then a week before the trip when I emailed about pick up time he said he could not confirm yet as he had a group to take somewhere else that day. I asked why he had not told me the trip was not confirmed when I bought my ticket and why he had not informed me as soon as he knew he would not be taking me. If I had had a polite and apologetic email back that would have been the end of it but instead I got a string of extremely rude emails, saying, amongst other things, that it was childish to expect to be told when a tour was cancelled. I asked that he stop emailing me and he did not. I stopped replying in the end.

This prompted me to cancel all tours with him and write a negative review. Again, that should have been the end of it but my first night in Cape Town, when I was sleeping in my hotel after a 13 hour flight, I got a call from someone that hung up when I answered. I have no proof this was Roger but within half an hour I got another call saying that people from 'Safari Tours' or some such generic name were downstairs and wanted to talk to me. I came straight down and a man and women shock my hands, I sat down and then the man told me he was Roger.

I found it extremely worrying and threatening that he had come, unannounced and uninvited, to my hotel and had got me to come downstairs by stating he was from a company I did not associate with him. I said this, to which he replied “Well why do you think I brought my wife?” (as if that made any difference to me!).

I said I did not want to talk to him now in this way and started to back away. He just kept telling me to sit down and listen to him. I said, “I will remove the negative review just please leave me alone now.” Again he just kept telling me to sit back down and the hotel staff intervened and asked them to leave.

I removed the review as I did not feel safe knowing that this extremely angry man knew exactly where I was staying. The hotel staff said that they would not let them in again or put any calls through to me from them. Apparently they called once more that night and, over the week, I got a few calls from random company’s that I had nothing booked with, I have no proof this was them but I found it highly suspicious.

Now that I am no longer staying in that hotel I feel that I should put this review back up since I originally wanted to book all my tours with Roger because he has so many good reviews.

I would not feel safe with such and angry and rude man and would highly recommend that you do not book anything with him. I'm sure he will deny everything but I have kept every email and I am sure the hotel staff will remember, so please contact me if you would like more detailed info.

We are a small family business, providing personal service to our clients. After 20 successful years, and numerous happy clients, we now have one unhappy non client; she is a “non client “ because in fact she never utilised our services. Oh well; can’t please everyone!

We are very disappointed with the poor services delivered to the group of physicians and nurses in South Africa. The company only had two (2) staff members: an older gentleman and his wife, both in retirement.

They were completely ill-equipped to handle our group of 110. They don't have buses, they rent them, then sublet the customers at hefty prices. They don't offer credit card services and they want to be paid cash, sixty (60) days in advance for all services.

They misrepresent their services. They overcharge for everything. They even obligated us to pay fees, meals, and lodging for our guides in Johannesburg, despite the fact that we had already paid them a comprehensive price that included "Guide Services"...

Please, stay away...

Louis Toussaint is the owner of Traveloganza the tour operator in the US who sent this group to us. He was also one of their two tour group leaders in the group of 110 doctors. We are disappointed with these untrue accusations he has made against us. 1. Older gentleman and his wife, both in retirements. Please have a look at our picture on our website, and you can see we are not in retirement. 2. We don’t have buses, and subcontract. We are a professional tour operator based in Cape Town as mentioned on our website. He contacted us to do his tours in Johannesburg 900 miles from here, why should he assume we have our own 2 x 60 seater buses for him in Johannesburg? We are a small company. It is common practice for tour operators to hire buses for their groups. Also it says on our website that we specialize in small groups, and he comes to us with a large group. We have buses for small groups. 3. Hefty prices. We gave the appropriate group discount for 110 pax, there is a lot of work and responsibility involved in the logistics for movement of 110 people for 9 days. There are companies that specialize in logistics and they charge much more. 4. Don’t offer credit card services. We explained months prior to their arrival that we only have a swipe card machine for the credit card which has to be done manually, and they are in America so it was impossible. I explained that most companies pay with bank transfer, they told me they did not want to pay the bank transfer fees. 5. We want to be paid 60 days before they arrive. The bus companies want the deposit in advance to reserve the buses and without this, no buses will be at the airport for them when they arrive. They only paid the buses the day they arrived which was unacceptable. I see on their traveloganza website, they now offering a group tour to Russia for June 2018 and they require payment by March 2018, this is normal. We are going on a package to China in May and we had to pay deposit last October, so why should he complain when we require the deposit. 6. Meals and lodging. They approached us after they had booked their hotel; if there is a problem about their accommodation they should be putting this on the hotel TripAdvisor account. Meals, when they booked with us they asked us to include the lunches and dinners in the quotation. When they received it, they asked us to take out the lunches and dinners part of the quote and they will arrange their own lunches and dinners. Any complaints and dissatisfactions about their meals should be made to the restaurants and not our TripAdvisor account; they only paid us for the buses and the staff. One of the drivers in Johannesburg called me to say he (Toussaint) was screaming at him and was very rude. On each of the 2 buses we had the legally required driver and guide staff members. We still have all the emails from Traveloganza that can prove our above statements.

Roger was our marvelous driver and tour guide on Nov. 10th for a tour of the Cape Town Peninsula. He was WONDERFUL! He was prompt and informative, yet he never seemed to be in a hurry to get to the next attraction. He gave great background and told us to be sure and let him know any time we wanted to take photos and he would stop - which we did several times. He was a gracious host for this beautiful country and could not have been more accommodating. We particularly enjoyed our visit to the penguins, the baboons, the ostrich farm, the Cape of Good Hope and the colorful beach houses. Thanks for a very memorable day!

We really enjoyed the tour with Roger. He is very nice and reliable person. His well-organised tour was very picturesque and customised to our special wishes. Roger is a very knowledgeable person and can explain details in a very interesting way. Please see some pictures from the route we took with Roger

After reading the great reviews of Mytours I was certain I was in for a great day in the Cape, however I ended up being really disappointed with the tour. First I would like to point out the positive experiences that I had, and for the sake of the viewer wishing to hire a tour guide, I think it's only fair that I share some of the issues I had on my tour.

Pros:
-Roger was very quick and responsive to all my email requests
- His price was about 500 Rand cheaper than other similar tours
- At my request, dropped me off at a different location other than my hotel
- Only 2 other people were on the tour this day

Cons:
- Roger showed up 20 minutes earlier than the planned pickup time. I had just sat down to eat my breakfast when he showed up. I asked him for a bit of time since he was early and I needed to eat something. He waited for about 5 minutes and became obviously upset with me that I was taking so long, even though we ended up heading out the door ahead of schedule. The entire drive to pickup the 2 other passengers he was stressed out to the max, saying he gets very stressed out in the mornings when he is picking up guests, and now he's running behind (as if it was somehow my fault).
- I noticed Roger made some rude remarks and comments to other guests. It could be a cultural difference, but it was very awkward.
-Roger would drop us off at points along the Cape Peninsula. He never went with us to explain the history or do any guiding. Honestly, he was more of a driver than a guide.
- The little amount of commentary he did make was not interesting or funny, and his headset was working on and off so it was really difficult to listen and keep attention.

we enjoy reading all the great reviews of our services on tripadvisor and we do email each one and thank them for their kind words. when we see someone was disappointed, then we are disappointed also. i do apologize for going into the breakfast room when you were having your breakfast, it was entirely unacceptable, and apologize for appearing stressed. it was not your fault. yes there could have been humor, if you look at my other reviews they do mention how they enjoyed my humor, i will make sure to include it in future tours. i would certainly never be rude to my guests as you have accused. one guest was a elderly man and not good on his feet. i assisted him on and off the bus at every stop. the other younger man from Johannesburg was so happy with my tour, he is coming back and bringing his girlfriend to do the tour again in september with us, so he is happy also. your 8 hour tour with us included 4hours driving in the car, i spoke for 3.5 hours of the drive. I spoke about the history and colonization of Cape Town, about the main industries here and the impact apartheid had on them, about the national animals/birds etc, the oceans here and there impact on the climate, the areas we passed, about the geographical and historical significances of the cape of good hope and cape point. this is the required guiding narration and technique on the peninsula tour. it may be that you do not find the peninsula tour of interest, but the vast majority of my guests do. i know other guides are playing music on the drive, this is not giving information. sorry about the microphone, if it packs up its really beyond our control, and this could happen to any guide. i immediately bought a new one and a spare should it happen again.

My wife and I hired Roger with Mytours.co.za in early January. Roger picked us up from our hotel and did a tour of Cape Town and Table Mountain. Very informal and relaxing day. We also did the peninsular tour which showed us the beautiful sites surrounding Cape Town and the Cape of Good Hope. Roger informed us of the history, politics, and direction of South Africa and the African continent. Very informative and well worth the time. I highly recommend Mytours for an informative look at Cape Town.

I took the Penninsula tour with Roger and it was wonderful! The tour was extremely well organized from the hotel pickup to Roger helping me exchange money. Roger is very knowledgeable about Cape Town and its vicinities and really friendly! The tour covers Hout Bay, the Cape of Good Hope and Simon's Town. I couldn't believe how much we saw in a single day. The tour allows for enough time at each attraction and Roger was very accommodating if we wanted to spend more time at one stop as opposed to another. It was a very relaxing but well guided tour and it was easy to make friends with the other people because of the small group size! I highly recommend!

Hi Vassi, It was such a pleasure having you on our tour. We are happy that you enjoyed it so much. My wife says you invited us to D.C. Is that because I mentioned wanting to visit the 'Smithsonian museum'? I hope not. We are flattered anyway. All part of the service, going out of the way for our guests. We are happy you enjoyed the friendly atmosphere on the tour with us
