You need to be fit in order to hike Table Mountain. Bring minimum two litres of water with you and walk/hike slowlly. The path is not so easy how people could think. Be aware about the fatigue and the hot weather. I do not reccomend this activity for over 60 yo.

Crazy queues to get on the cable car, so you could either walk one of the many routes(?) or go to the bus station offices and purchase your combined bus ticket and Table Mountain tickets from there. You then avoid the queue for tickets at the cable car station but still have to queue for the cable car itself. Don't... More

Table Mountain is a 7th natural wonder of the world. Walking on top of it is a amazing...the fauna and flora is diverse (read up on fynbos) and the views are spectacular of the city and of the surrounding coast that boasts some of the world's most beautiful beaches beckoning below. Some fitter folk like to walk up to the... More

There are lots of walks around Table Mountain, it costs nothing and it's a great day out. Take a camera as there are lots of awesome views from just any side of the mountain. Don't forget if you like plants this is where you will find hundreds of species of fynbos. Take a picnic and lots of water

Amazing views on top op the table mountain of Cape Town, Camps Bay, and the mountain range towards Hout Bay. There is also some wildlife with the 'dassies' running around

We climbed in January so really hot. Had children aged 9 & 7. Intended to climb up Platteklip path and get cable car down. On the day the mountain was closed - this actually means the cable car is closed. The police advised us to park in the lower car park. This was a mistake as we then spent about... More

We hiked Table Mountain with Pietro. He was a very friendly knowledgable guide who is passionate about his job. He brought us water and snacks which was much appreciated. He took his time and paced the hike and breaks well, we were able to work up a sweat but not be tired at the end. I wish we could do... More

i've been walking the mountain for years, whether Kalk Bay mountain or Devil's Peak and Newlands Forest, and I'm constantly amazed at how well maintained Table mountain's various paths and hiking routes are, even in the remotest spots. Generally very safe, but for a Couple isolated spots where muggings have occurred. If you're a tourist, walk in groups on the... More

A couple of mails were enough to settle the day, joining two other solo travelers for a great hiking day on Table Mountain guided by Pietro. Although challenging with strong wind during the first hour, Pietro proposed various alternatives to fit our fitness level and once at the top of the mountain, we had the chance to have the whole...
