Indoor climbing at CityROCK is a fun way of exercising in a safe and vibrant environment. Climbing is not about sitting on a treadmill for what feels like hours - each climb is different and will challenge you every time both physically and mentally.

Our climbing facilities include a large bouldering area (bouldering is climbing 3-4m high without a rope) and high walls for roped climbing.

We cater to many different audiences - from first-time kids to experienced outdoor climbers, and everyone in between.

CityROCK is more than just a climbing gym, it is where like-minded people meet and share their passion for climbing.

Our coffee shop area has a relaxed vibe and is the ideal place to meet friends, climbing partners and make plans for your next trip. Free Wi-Fi makes it a great spot to interact through your social media network, while having coffee, chatting, or browsing through climbing magazines and route guides.

We also cater for children's birthday parties and corporate events. We have a well-established yoga studio that caters for a variety of yoga styles, and we also offer various climbing training courses for kids and adults alike.

Our operating hours are: Mon/Wed 09:00-21:00, Tue/Thur 09:00-22:00, Fri 09:00-19:00, Sat/Sun 09:00-18:00, Pub Holidays 10:00-18:00

CityROCK is also the home of the finest specialist outdoor gear shop in the country. We stock a variety of top local and international brands and our friendly staff will be able to assist you in kitting up with the best gear for your next adventure.

We pride ourselves on service excellence and our staff is always available to assist in any way.

So why not give us a call or pop in and try it out, you are never too old or too young to try something new.

This is a good place for a few hours of fun. Be prepared to sweat, because indoor climbing is tough. Kids had a great time. There are walls for more experienced climbers, so beginners may find options a bit limited. Found this to be a bit pricey, but lots of fun.

Very nice activity for a rainy day we had. Was nice to climb on our own although you definitely need some good arm strength as an adult haha. Overall would definitely go back and recommend it :)

Our visit was due to a fantastic Groupon deal that we purchased. The children loved it and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The down side was that the children were limited to two Rock Climbing areas as they needed to hire an instructor @ R170 to utilize the rest of the facility. I feel that it could have been made more affordable... More

My daughter and her friends loved it. We could not have chosen a more perfect venue for her birthday party. Very well organized and extremely safety conscious. The staff is accommodating and very friendly. It is safe and clean. Thank you! P.S. I had the best and biggest cappuccino.

My boyfriend and I spent two days climbing in this awesome gym in Obz. Such a cool boulder area with awesome and challenging problems! Lots of variety for top Ropes and lead climbs as well! Go check it out!

Great experience and we come there as one of the tourist attractions, which we really enjoyed. Also was nice to have a hot shower afterwards to continue with our crazy holidays :)

If you have active kids then this is a great place to go. We spent 2 hours there and they had a ball. For Dad it was great too, just fitness levels can impeded the time spent. Wish there was a short visit price rather a daily only.

My children, aged 10 and 12 years, have been climbing at City Rock for the past 5 years and are excited to visit each time. We spend many hours there while they climb and explore their inner strengths and weaknesses. I would recommend it to anyone. Great value for money as well. The instructors are helpful and friendly and really... More

My wife, her brother and I found out about this activity off a search on TripAdvisor when we were already in Cape Town. We had our 8 month daughter with us which made for its own fun as she screamed ecstatically a lot more than the rest of us! About 10 minutes drive from the city centre. We called a... More
