The history is fantastic to experience - you must do a tour though (all of them). We're told it's one of the best places to buy loose diamonds - it would make sense, right.

What an experience- we weren't expecting such an interesting place. We arrived at 930 got one of the first guided tours - very informative. The 20 minute movie after was done extreme well. Spent 2 hours negotiating a diamond !!!!! Then lunch at the pub...More

Impressive what was done with human hands. For sure worth a visit with a rich history. There are different tours, we suggest to do all, not only the hole.

What an interesting visit. It is a work in progress but well worth popping in and stroking around. Be sure to have time tomorrow enjoy it and take in the amazing history. Loved it.

Who needs Table Mountain when you can look at a big hole! The hole is what it is, and it's great. The tour is good, but a bit cheesy and they rush you along. The 'underground experience' is a fake, you don't get to go...More

Nice experience if you're interested in history. The hole itself is cool to see but not the best part about it. Cool exhibition.

Do not get me wrong, I fully understand that this is a historical site. But this doesn't mean it had to be dull and boring. I'm almost certain that I will never go to the big hole again. I saw so much unused potential just...More

The highlight of the visit, is definitely the view of the "Big Hole" Man made excation. The Museum itself, and the old town, are interesting, but run down and should be updated. Although the Museum staff and guides are interested, they lack a general knowledge...More

Informative guided tour of the Big Hole and visit down the mine, small shopping area and pub restaurant. The website provides further details. Worth a visit if you have not seen it before.
We will be working our way up from Cradock to Bela Bela and thought to stop over for 1 night in Kimberley. How much time is needed to see The blue Hole? Can we start a tour after 1:00 pm in August?
