Having visited a Thai elephant sanctuary previously I now feel ashamed to have visited a place that really had nothing on the superb, knowledgable and positive reinforcement type of training that I witnessed at the Hazyview sanctuary. We were given a lot of information regarding these mighty beasts as well as being able to ride them bareback which alas they... More

We went for the early morning elephant brush down and trunk in hand walk. This was a highlight of our trip to Africa. The keepers were very gentle with the two elephants who live at the sanctuary - they were more likely to correct the guests than the elephants! We got to brush the elephants, feed them treats, walk around... More

A wonder experience with extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. Just a shame there wasn't anywhere close where we could get something to eat.

I am a huge lover of elephants and interested in their conservation, so I was a little nervous about how tastefully the experience would be managed. The elephants were saved from a worst fate and so overall I was comfortable they are being looked after. You simply must pay extra for the sundown experience; which was the best part as... More

Lots of interaction with these magnificent animals. The staff are helpful and informative and obviously enjoy their work . The site is a short drive outside of Hazy View .

My visit to the elephant sanctuary was the highlight of my stay in Hazyview. The elephant keepers gave us an informative talk about the elephants history and anatomy. We got to feed and touch the elephants and walked with them with their trunks in our hands.
