Nestled 20 kilometres north of Ohrigstad, on route to Tzaneen, the Three Rondavels, the Echo caves, Bourkes Luck Pothole and a must see - the second largest gorge in the world - The Blyde River canyon, is the THE SHOE GUESTHOUSE. Shaped as a large, single boot shoe that resembles the nursery rhyme of the Old Woman in the Shoe, this attraction is a non-negotiable stopover. The attraction boasts accommodation and meal facilities, as well as, surrounded by an African context boasts a museum of crafts and woodwork. At a small additional fee, you can enter the museum and feel the ambiance of original African art, with wooden sculptures of Mother Mary, and various African wildlife. This museum also provides a peak into furniture and clothing from the 50's and 60's, which adds to the eclectic environment of the Shoe. A must for photographers to stop and place their mark at the shoe, with souvenir photos, and any tourist will simply delight in its natural, African environment. The Shoe Guesthouse is a must to either stop or sleep over. An experience that one will not easily forget.
