Lovely clean park with some great bike and walking trails
Nov 2020
Hike the 2.5 mi Roundtrip trail to the Crack on Sara's Crack trail. Great photos can be made along the way once you reach the hills and rocked walls. There are lots of nooks and crannies to make fun photos. Be prepared to decend down a boulder with a rope to get to the crack. If you aren't strong in the arms/legs, it may be difficult to get back up with the rope. Be prepared to have assistance or stop and photograph the crack from there and don't decend. There is no cell phone service within to help you out. Also, the trail is both hardened soil and small gravelly rock so if you are in need of help, I suggest a hiking stick/pole. Also use a camelbak in the hot weather. Use the bathroom at the parking lot before you start the hike. No bathroom on the trail. Keep the park clean please! Take your trash/waterbottles out.

Launch Spot For Hiking and Biking
Nov 2020
This is a multi-purpose activity park above the shoreline and just south of the center of the city. For hikers, a whole bunch of excursions up the hillside and down to the lake can be initiated from here, including the popular Sara's Crack. There are also opportunities for mountain biking, off roading, baseball, and shooting. If you hike bring water and snacks. Some of the hikes can take 3-5 hours to complete.

Never a dull moment
Sep 2020
During the cooler months this place must get crazy busy when events take place. They have everything under the sun here but it was empty when I went in September and it was over 100 degrees, well I saw a few people. I came prepared with a hat, sunglasses, good shoes, and water.

March rain may make it difficult to get to lake
Mar 2020 • Couples
Yellow trail- prepare to either get wet or turn back. Recent March rain left several
large puddles. The Yellow Trail is definitely worth it- the first mile is easy, crushed gravel/sandy, and then you get to the rock formations. Well worth it and great pictures, but you don’t have to go too far before there’s a 15 foot puddle that you’d either have to walk through or cling to the side of the rock. We turned back around, but no regrets. Total walk to the big puddle and back was about an hour.

Lots of options and FREE
Mar 2020
At SARA park you can hike and mountain bike miles of trails. Many are not marked well, but you can easily find your way and skip along to another trail if you lose your way. That is what happened to us. We ended up on several trails and had a wonderful time taking in the sun and views. Bring water and be prepared for some scrambles depending on the trail hiked. I recommend using a trail app and downloading the map layers as there is no service on the entire trail. There is a water filling station at the main trail head with restrooms.

Breathtaking and Fun Hike
Feb 2020 • Couples
Must do. Beautiful hike in winter months and a quick drive just outside of Lake Havasu. The ‘crack’ has a Spot where water heading on the time of year so be prepared to get wet. There is a plank and it was dry for us! It’s about two third of the way the ‘crack’ Also know that once you get to the end of the ‘crack’ - you don’t have to go back through. There’s a path just to your right - and stay right that takes you around and will connect you towards the parking lot. We went on from this path and connected with the trail that will bring you up to lizard’s peak. Watch for trail markers. Lizard’s peak is simply outstanding. There is a picnic table at the top spend some time there and look down and you will see a giant lizard made of rocks. in all - doing both took about three hours Sara’s ‘crack’ can be hiked in an hour - 1 hour and a half. Bring water and wear a hat and good hiking shoes - rocks can be slippery with runners. Garden gloves may save your hands too. The crack isn’t good for young kids - you would do lots of lifting and manoeuvring. Loved this hike!

Hiking at SARA park is good but could be better marked.

A myriad of trails criss-cross the area and we weren't sure we were on the right one. We had a map purchased at the Visitor's Center that wasn't very helpful. Look at the map on the kiosk before you leave.

We stopped at the park on a whim and drove through it first. We went back through and stopped and decided to hike some of the trails. The scenery is beautiful. Next time we will go more prepared with backpacks with water, etc and a map of the trails which is available at the visitor center.
