We had a quick visit and picnic here in March of '18. There were little to no people here at the time. The lake is nice, the beach area interestingly is made up of many, tiny crushed shells. The kids had fun collecting all the...More

We moved to Lake Havasu 21/2 years ago, and I can tell you that the state park, the city, the whole area is definitely not washed up. It’s truly, thankfully not Las Vegas, but there is a smaller casino across the lake in California. If...More

The mountains surrounding the lake are very pretty but if you are considering driving for the day like we did - skip it. The town has a washed up feel to it and London Bridge is a let down. Been there, done that, won’t come...More

Super friendly park staff. The lake is beautiful and we saw a boat full of Lake Havasu Marine Association volunteers picking up trash from the beaches that others had littered. Very nice positive boating experience.

We had a pretty good time at this campsite, although this is much more of park camping and better suited for RVs than tent camping. It's perfect if you plan to spend most of your time in the water and has it's own private beach...More

Gorgeous park. Cleaned and maintained too! Took the tweens there yesterday. Lots of families. Beach access to the water. Playgrounds. Grassy area available. Walk path that goes all the way to the London Bridge.

April is spring break time all the college kids will be there. Pretty much all of lake Havasue will be over run by spring breakers. I would pick some place else to go if your looking for quiet.

There are coyotes in the area. I see them early in the morning. The camping sites are well patrolled and monitored by fish and game. You should be ok

Hours of businesses around Christmas (1 Replies)
We’ll be in Lake Havasu for the first time in December, but unfortunately will only be there from late afternoon on the 24th until lunchtime on the 26th. Should we assume that pretty much all the shops and restaurants around the London Bridge or uptown will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? If you have any suggestions for restaurants that might be open for us to go to on these dates please let me know. I am also trying to find out if Lake Havasu State Park, Cattail Cove State...More

I live here in Havasu and although I can't give you all the information you're looking for, there's always the Golden Corral buffet. (1550-s-palo-verde-blvd 928-680-6509) They serve Christmas Dinner. The Black Bear Diner at 1900 McCulloch downtown Havasu, is also open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. (I just called them) Their number is: 928-855-2013 should you have any questions. I've done some research myself in trying to find a place to eat on Christmas. I know from experience that both...More

Is this a reasonable itinerary for Grand Canyon, et. al? (14 Replies)
Hi, everyone. Finally going to see the Grand Canyon in early May. Taking a week in a campervan doing a big loop that starts and ends in Las Vegas. The more I research, the more I am afraid to commit to almost ANYTHING because there seems to be way more to see and do than I could possibly do in one week. I don't expect to return to the area, so I don't want to feel like I missed something by going too quickly. How does this look: Day 1: load up the van, swing by Hoover Dam for a couple...More

I think you need to look at distances and time involved in some of your adventure. Yes, too ambitious. Joshua Tree NP is 4 hours from Hoover Dam. Lake Havasu SP is 3 hours from there. Where are you going to camp in Coconino NF? It is a very large area. It does allow dispersed camping with no services. You will have to find a place to camp off of a paved road as your rental contract will prohibit dirt roads. Not sure where such a place might be. You will find part of one day at Sedona not...More
