Dealing with Sensing Africa was an awesome experience. Pete was incredibly professional and assisted in securing our bush walk and making sure we had an excellent experience. He provided lots of information before the walk and was there for any questions.
We had a bush walk with Stephan in the Jejane reserve, Greater Kruger (10 min from Hoedspruit). He was an incredibly knowledgeable guide and was able to answer all our questions about animals, birds, tracks, plants, and insects. It was also great that he could speak German as we had some german friends visiting us. The pace of the walk was great. Seeing a young male lion on our way home topped off a really memorable experience! Will definitely use Sensing Africa again!

We booked a one day tour with sensing Africa. We had a 5km hike followed by visiting a few point of interest in the hoedspruit area.
We had a great time, the guide was very informative and patient with the children and the hike was very good.

get to know pieter via instagram and started chatting. organised the whole tour in Kruger with very good guides. we didn't have to worry about anything for the whole day. day started at 4.30 and ended around 19u. we were exhausted :)

Pieter organised an incredible week for me in South Africa on very short notice (only two weeks!), which surpassed all my expectations - it was a complete dream.
We discussed a few options and he worked within my budget to ensure I got to do everything I wanted to.
Pieter organised my transfers - which were seamless and the drivers all incredibly friendly and professional - as well as accommodations and activities.
Before departing, I received a detailed itinerary from Pieter with full details of accommodations, activities and transfer information so I was fully prepared for the trip.
I stayed at a small lodge on a Big 5 reserve, where I received VIP treatment, ate incredible food and had wonderful encounters with elephants, leopards, hyenas, giraffes and more. My trip concluded with a stay at a boutique lodge and spa in Hoedspruit, where I went horseback riding and relaxed.
Pieter checked in with me before, during, and after my trip to make sure everything was running as planned. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe and secure at all times, and everything went without a hitch.
I couldn't recommend Pieter enough - the holiday was truly a dream come true, and I would be sure to recommend him to anyone looking to book an African adventure.

We did a morning Bush Walk where we gained lots of information about the plants, animals and birds around the area. Pieter, our guide, was very knowledgeable on the area, the local plants and animals, and knew just where to take us to find and explore what we wanted to see.

We went on our second trip with Sensing Africa this April. We cannot speak more highly of Pieter as a travel organizer as well as safari guide. We recommend Sensing Africa, for your romantic honeymoon or for a worry-free family holiday with (younger) kids.
Our first trip was a 12-day self-drive holiday. Everything was organized and planned perfectly, from exceptional lodges with great food, knowledgeable and pleasant guides to a variety of more adventurous activities and romantic sundowners while watching the Big 5. A truly unforgettable experience which we closed with a few days at the coast in Cape Town.
On our second trip we took our two kids, 4 and 8 years old. While only very few lodges accept young children, Pieter managed to give us the same exceptional experience as a family, completely worry free, where all logistics, transport, activities etc. had been taken care of, until the very last detail.
Pieter is a great communicator and planner. He listened carefully to our wishes, made a proposal and we fine-tuned this together during a Skype meeting. Always stayed within our budget. We received a detailed plan and itinerary, which also had several optional activities which we could do depending on our mood. He checked in with us during the trip to ensure all was going as planned and was always available when we had questions. We also appreciated Pieters knowledge as a safari guide when he took us on one of the game drives.
Highly recommended.

Pieter is a very personable and bright fellow. Trained as an engineer, he has fallen in love with Africa and studied intensively. A morning walk at a ranch in South Africa revealed far more than I would have imagined. The telltale signs of wildlife markings, the birds, the vegetation were all there but now I was "seeing" and not just looking.

Pieter was our guide during a recent family riding holiday in South Africa and looked after us all extremely well – whether tracking and spotting animals, birds and insects when out on rides and sharing stories about them; ensuring we had everything we needed at camp; or entertaining us in the evening during a candlelit dinner by the campfire. We especially enjoyed learning how to ‘just be’ in the bush – disconnecting teenagers from electronics and becoming aware of the nature around us. We were lucky enough to see an elusive hyena cub! Another highlight was when he organised cattle herding on horseback for all 5 of us – great to have the whole family working together as a team concentrating on the same objective under Pieter’s careful leadership whilst having fun at the same time. We regret preferring a lie-in to doing one of his early morning walking tours and would definitely do this next time for an immersive bush experience!

For our honeymoon, we relied on Pieter to organise an unforgettable, romantic and slightly adventurous trip.
Pieter carefully listened to our wishes during a Teams meeting and asked a lot of questions to get a good idea of what kind of activities appealed to us.
After just a few weeks, he provided us with a nice proposal for a round trip in Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa where, in the end, only minor changes were made. It was immediately clear that this really was a customised trip that Pieter had carefully mapped out for us. Before departure, we were given a detailed day-to-day plan with all the information about the stays, hourly spending and routes to drive. During the trip, we noticed that everything was super organised and no problems arose with accommodation, car rental, flights, etc. Pieter checked in with us during the trip to make sure everything was going as planned and he was always available for questions.
The trip brought us unique places and super accommodations. We could not have imagined a better worry free honeymoon.

Pieter organised an AMAZING 8-day Safari in different private reserves (it's not a fenced reserve, the animals are allowed to cross the borders to Greater Kruger, but the people can't).
The communication with Pieter before and during the trip was excellent! He took my needs into account and everything went really smooth!
