Perfect paddle

My wife and I took our two teenage children paddling up the river and then walked to the waterfall. A three hour round trip. Beautiful scenery and birdlife.

Great afternoon out with the kids. The walk is 8km to the waterfall and back and well worth it. We will definitely be back. There is a charge to access the walk, but your Wild card (if you have the appropriate package) will get you in.

Had a good time at the national park. Lots to see and do. Had a segway tour in the park and went canoeing. Fun times for the family.

The pictures say it all. Must go. Next time coming with family. The walk is long but worth it. Not for the faint hearted. Carry water and snacks. There is no shop anywhere on the walk. A moonlit night there is a dream for those who love adventure, solitude.

This is just a beautiful part of the world, unfortunately we didn't have the time to stay long at the Wilderness National park. but what we saw was lovely. it reminder us of home in NZ. It's worth the effort to go and visit.

Its the best getaway for relaxation. Canoeing in a serene river and the sound of herons its so pleasant. Don't worry no crocodiles around.

We drove out in search of the large tree which is supposed to be over 800 years old and quite something to see . Having driven for half an hour to the forest reserve we encountered a large padlocked gate and a sign saying CLOSED ! No reason given just the opening times (when open!) so if you want to... More

Absolutely stunning! The main attraction in wilderness. The half collared kingfisher trail is a beautiful easy walk done within 2,5 hrs. Highlight was the canooing on the river up between the forrest creeks and down to the lagoon. A must for any garden route visitor!
