We visited last year and were privileged to have a nun escort us around the mission. Wonderful work being done there.

My parents, sister and I visited the mission on our way to Underberg. Upon entrance we were greeted by Mdu who said he would give us a tour. We gratefully accepted and the tour started. Ten minutes after his tour (which I must admit was...More

Still an actively functioning church with a flour mill museum down next to the river. The church is stunning, although slowly fading away - needs some TLC - but perhaps it adds to it's beauty and gives you the feeling that it really is over...More

A beautiful former mission and monastery founded by German Trappist monks. It seems a shame that the mother house or any, particularly German Catholoc organisation cannot find the means and volunteers to save the beautiful sandstone church which looks as if the waterloogeg sandstone walls...More

Beautiful church well worth a visit! It was a wedding venue for family friends and we were enchanted with the exquisite stained glass and hand painted frescoes created by the Trappist Monks in the 1880's

We made the mistake of arriving without making prior arrangements for a tour or a guide. The lack of funds can be seen in the general upkeep of the surrounding buildings BUT we would love to go back for a proper visit to this magnificent...More
