A great place in the city for a little peace and quiet. Historic chapel for most inter-demoninational services run by a really nice couple. Gardens were tidy and well kept. There is also a history museum on the property.

this is our Durban history and gives you the general idea that Durban is actual not a very old city with this happening in 1842 it is set in a lovely garden with the dainty chapel and the warriors gate museum

Close to other museums in downtown Durban, the Old Fort is definitely one place for those interested in war history and are fond of war memorials. There is so much history here and the small park itself is well kept and maintained. However the trip will not be complete if you will not be able to visit the adjacent MOTH... More

Travelling South Africa on business I always try and look out for 'out the way, forgotten gems' to visit as often as possible. So, on that note, if you find yourself at a loose end (or just fancy having some quiet time) it's worth an hour wander around The little chapel/church and gardens are scenic and respite from the intensity... The title of the place is not what you get there is no actual fort, there is a model of the site where the battle took place however it was a ring of wagons not a building. There is a church building in the centre of the park and the park is actually the nicest part of the Old Fort.... More
