We enjoyed a tour of Durban and the Phezulu Cultural Village while we were on a cruise. Highlights included a visit to their beautiful soccer stadium, the boardwalk along the ocean which seemed very much like Miami Beach, and a visit to the cultural village for a look at alligators (or was it crocodiles?) and a show put on by... Sotiris is an inspiring guide and makes it possible for you to chance the touristic sites to more individualistic wishes, if you are more interested in peoples daily lives. Talk to his charming assistant Nosip at the small office at the Waterfront and you learn a lot about the life of a young Zulu woman. Ask Sotiris to bring her... More

1st Zulu safari is by far the best safari that anyone could ever take in Durban. The guide is awesome, the Land Rover is in amazing condition, the beer is cold, and the Zulu women are hot! :) I will certainly be back and will bring friends and family each and every time. This was an amazing life experience.

We booked a day trip to Lesotho at 1st Zulu Safaris. Sotiris was our tour guide and one of the reasons why we see this day tour as the highlight of our holiday in south africa. During our 4-5 hour drive from Durban to Lesotho, Sotiris stopped at the most beautiful places for taking pictures. He was very friendly and... More

Having just one day to spend some 'rural time' in Kwazulu Natal we contacted, almost by accident, 1st Zulu Safaris with Sotiris as our very flexible driver, guide, but mostly as very good company. We spent a most interesting day in Pietermaritzburg, Drakensberge (Giant's castle), walking to the rock paintings in exceptional landscapes, and in KZN countryside near Durban. Sotiris... More

As I was at a loose end for a day in Durban I booked the day trip to the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve. It is quite a long day and requires an early start, but was well worth it. Young children might find the travelling tiring, but the wildlife is plentiful and easy to see, and they will certainly enjoy the... More

It was an absolute blast to go on this full day tour with Peter. He picked us up from our hotel in Umhlanga rocks with his zebra vehicle and there was only 3 of us on the tour. With Peter's chatting we were never bored during the day. The dance, farm and Durban city tour were all ok, but what... More

I had been planning this tour for a long time before going to South Africa. I reached out to a few agencies and 1st Zulu Safaris based in Durban is one of the agencies who had actively responded to my inquiries. When I arrived in Durban, I phoned a few agencies that I had been in touch with. Since I... More

We booked with 1st ZULU SAFARIS for trips to Zulu Battlefields and to Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve. Both proved to be excellent. Trips not only met our hopes and expectations but went beyond and proved both excilerating and informative. Our Tour Guide Sotiris could not have provided a better service and I would recommend and endorse his organisation who went... More
