Shakaland was a fun and interesting place to visit. Yes obviously staged but fun nonetheless. They do dances and show you zulu culture. If you're after beaded Jewellery worth buying here. Very friendly and welcoming. Such a fun place.

The village is absolutely fabulous only spoilt by the shop Curioafrica taking 6000 rand for an item, taking shipping details and then not bothering to send the item. Cue 3 wasted hours on the phone trying to get a refund from Visa. Go to Shakaland...More

We went here with our tour and found it to be informational, interesting but very touristy. I prefer to go to real villages and not "made for tourist" villages but realize that's not always possible. The performers didn't seem to interested in their jobs which...More

We arrived in the rain, so the Zulu show was in doors, the drums were very loud and the dancers had extreme energy. Wow! was the favorite expression of the group leaving the arena. Rooms were not air conditioned but it didn't matter. The room...More

When we arrived it was pretty hot and our rondevel hut was hot inside. The huge downside of staying the night is there is no Air Conditioning in the huts nor anyplace else and it was so hot we had trouble sleeping. On the other...More

There's plenty of parking for the RVs, we parked 15 there and stayed in their huts. It is not inexpensive to stay but perhaps they have a reduced rate for the children. The children will enjoy the program. There is not a... More

There is no general entrance fee. You pay only for the programmes you want to take part in. A full programme that includes a Cultural Tour, Zulu Dance and Full Buffet Lunch, costs about R460.00 (SA Rands). per person.
