I have been to different branches of Tasha's few times with friends over the years. It got worse and worse every time we went. After my last visit,I will never go again. Tashas restaurants are way overrated, always overcrowded, annoyingly noizy, and the service is always poor, never mind the average food. Last time we visited Melrose arch Tasha's, there was no service. The waiters were avoiding eye contact pretending they did't see us. One waiter bumped my chair at least 5 times while passing our table, which was really irritating. The tables are so close to each other, it's quite uncomfortable. It was extremely noizy and unpleasant. We waited for our drinks over 30 minutes, and for our meal over an hour! To get your bill, you are in for further 30 Min waiting. The food was average. The meals are way overpriced for what you get. Don't waste your time, there are many other nice restaurants in town! X

Hotspot of Melrose arch

Situated in Melrose vibrant hotspot of restaurants, boutiques and Hotels.

We enjoyed a hot cup of coffee and delicious slice of Moelleux mint chocolate cake to die for and a Tartelette Fraise with fresh Strawberries on top.

Just a pity they don't offer gluten free option for diet restrictions.

We almost felt like we were sitting in Paris.

Friendly service by Natasha and relaxed coffee shop atmosphere.

During the festive season the kids can be confronted by a street full of lights for Xmas under a tunnel like structure in the front of the restaurants.

Filled with locals feeling free outdoors everyone with masks on but it was epic.

Tourists hotels available and close proximity to Sandton city and Gautrain.

Will definitely be back.

PARKING UNDERGROUND
Cashier absolutely the worst when paying for parking. We parked underground on 5 February 2022. Had to wait for cashier to finish whatever he was doing on his computer. There are no signs to indicate where or how to pay for parking. After searching and then have to face this rude individual with an attitude problem to pay. He needs manners and training to deal with clients.

This place is an embarrasment to South africa. I know we in a trend where embarrassing things seem to be the usual for south Africans. But even the Starbucks and Paul establishments there are embarrassing, I meet people there from other countries and truly the protea, Marriott etc all those places are unhelpful and embarrassing. Rather get another destination to visit. These that's with their sports cars and luxurious vehicles go there, because they don't know any better. It's just an embarrassing place to be for a south african meeting foreign people.

Melrose Arch has done it again. Set up one of the side streets with amazing Christmas Lights, wel organised and the kids absolutely loved it.

A distinctly European feel in the middle of Johannesburg. Temporary escapism for us locals to a European city. Definitely worth visiting several times. Excellent restaurant options and shops. It's worth it.

Time to socialise, do your shopping and dine with Friends. The restaurants in one area and the choice is simpler.

With the Christmas lights in display now, it’s really nice. Gives the feeling of Christmas.
Kids would love the different animals with colourful lights.
Very accessible parking next to the Christmas lights hot spot.
A few interesting statues/sculptures around. Can be nice if they put more art pieces around and more benches for visitors.

We had an overnight between flights and did not want just a soulless airport hotel, so took the 25 minute taxi ride to Melrose Arch.
This was a great decision as we had a decent hotel with a nice upmarket shopping and eating area to explore. Plenty of places for dinner and breakfast.
Going back to the airport the next morning was smooth as travel is opposite to the traffic.
Definitely more expensive than staying at the airport, but it made the day part of the holiday rather than just travelling.
