I cannot understand why this place is not on Tripadvisor because people should know about it !
I have been taking my little one there for a few years already and she can now climb like a monkey. One adult should hold the safety rope to ensure that the child (or adult if you have a lot of upper body strength) is safe. Andile, who works there, (what a gem !!!!) will show you quickly how to operate the buckle and rope. She is so sweet and helpful and within a few minutes you will know exactly what to do.
Tip : for a little one / first visit , let the little monkey climb about 30 cm above the ground and encourage them to let go of the grips and let their feet dangle freely while you hold the rope tightly so that they realise that they are sitting in the harness and cannot fall. What a winner !! After that you will have to be quick to tighten the rope as they climb faster and higher :)
They sell cold drinks and crisps and they have climbing shoes to rent.
My little one bought a little chalk bag yesterday as she feels like a professional climber in the making :)

We only found out about this place through friends who go there every other week. It's a fantastic place for kids and grown ups alike. They have climbing walls for all levels of expertise. My youngest (only 4) loved what they called the 'cave' where he could practice climbing without the harness - ie free climbing with a mat to fall on.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
There is a shop upstairs that sells a few types of toasted sandwiches and hot chips. Very tasty and good value for money.
Wonderwall is a fantastic place and I recommend it for young and old.
PS my Mom went there a few months ago and climbed to the top of one of the walls. She is 76 years old!
