What a riveting one man show. Brilliant monologue with lighting that was used with brilliant effect. The actor Graham Weir did not miss a beat, he told the tales and portrayed each character with such finesse. A great night out which should not be missed. A brilliant piece of theatre in a style not often used. Terrific

Visited the theatre on a Thursday evening with 5 friends seeing 'Suddenly the Storm' in the studio at the theatre. It was a great performance in a lovely, comfortable theatre.

NOTE: be SUPER careful when leaving the theatre and travelling home. My friends and I were held at gun point in a street a few blocks from the theatre where we got our possessions robbed from us. Windows up, doors locked and exercise caution when stopping at traffic lights. Not posting this to deter people from venturing out, though it's important to consider.

Market Theatre is simply wonderful.
I saw "6 characters in search of an author" and every actor and actress was great! I recommended for travellers interested in seeing a good local theatre production.
The price for my ticket was very small, it was 120 rand and the "show" was quite long and I would really like to say "compliments" to all the actors.

I have never had a bad time at The Market. The shows here are always fantastic, with excellent service at bar and lounge areas. Fun times have been had here.

plenty of allocated parking for theatre goes with friendly guards to take care of your vehicle. Nice preassembly area to have drinks before show starts. Sound in the theatre is good and performances are of international standards

The theater inside has beautiful changed over the years. It's a pity it's not in a good spot anymore although safe parking and a high presence of security. Well done guys. The shows they put on is stunning and of a high standard. Very impressive. Thanks.

A lovely old fashioned theatre tucked away in the old potato shed district just over the Nelson Mandela bridge. Well within walking distance of the Sci Bono centre and the Africa museum. The Mannie Manim theatre gives a real experience of being in the play, absorbed in the action. A wee bar as you enter is a good place to congregate and meet your friends. Parking is in secure multi storey. The theatre attracts high quality directors and actors and should not be missed.

This theatre reminds of areas gone by with red velvet seats, a coffee area and various theatres tucked away in the building.

Keep an eye on their website for upcoming shows as a lot of the shows tend to be on for a short period of time. I've watched some great pieces here over the last years.

Parking is at the Newtown mall and you walk a short distance to the theatre. There are various restaurants and coffee shops in the area if you want to get something to eat or drink before the show starts.
