I just visited the university theatre as we had a show here last year. This university is rather big, one can easily get lost here. It looks a bit old.

Well curated museum. Interesting presentation of art and collaboration with nearby university. In the heart of downtown Johannesburg. Nice cafe adjacent.

Not sure I'd recommend Wits University to travellers unless they are particularly interested in its architecture or visiting a specific attraction here. Check out Wits Theatre, the Wits Art Museum, the Origins Centre, or OLIVES & PLATES at the Museum on East Campus, or at...More

This is one of SA's major universities. They have a decent restaurant on site and nice grounds to walk, A bit of student unrest of late does not make it the safest place to go.

The history of the university was very interesting. When one walks around you can see damage done by students during the riots last year. Such a shame that they dont appreciate the history and take pride in the school they attend which has an international...More

There are many historic buildings with a rich history but unfortunately with the recent student protests a lot of the buildings were damaged and vandalised. Stay clear for now as it may be dangerous.

Yes there is a cafeteria on site. It deoends what time you are going to visit?. If it is during the holidays it won't be open. Public transport is not your best bet if it's your first time in South Africa. It depends where... More
