We didn't spend a lot of time on Melville as most of our time was spent exploring Johannesburg and the surrounding areas. However, there were plenty of restaurants and cafes, with a friendly feel to the place, and it felt safe to walk around.

I have been taking my antiques furniture for repair to Die Ossewa antiques in the main street for for years. I also discovered a great home industry in main street called Koljander that sells baked goods, ethnic food, jam, jewellery, clothing, and art etc.

A very nice walk around to see everything and there are great things to look at. There and people on the street that make the experience not as pleasurable as it could be.

We stayed at Arum Place Guesthouse here, and walked to dinner each night for three nights. Fun, funky neighborhood with great little shops and dining options. Seemed safe too.

I visited 27 Boxes for a few meeting. The space is very quite and the shops are really unique. I enjoyed the record shop on the upper level and the kiddies play area that the space offers.
