In mid-January I booked a last minute tour with MoAfrika for a half-day (closer to 3/4 of a day) tour to the Cradle of Humankind. I was a little disappointed in the tour - there was only one other person on the tour, no guide, only a driver. And it seemed pricey for the service provided - about 2,000 Rand, about US$140. But the site itself was amazing. I particularly enjoyed visiting the caves where Little Foot and Miss Mes were discovered. Driving up West for the day and straight into this world heritage site. Firstly, just the great open Sunday morning fresh air on the route is a welcome sight. Te staff at this world heritage are more then welcoming and in no minutes the tour takes off. One could not have asked for a better place to spend a weekend. Much effort really has gone into making this site a wonderful and educational. Certainly a place to visit as a local or international guest and if you been to SA and have not had the opportunity to visit then there is a good reason to visit SA again.…

Our tour guide had a great sense of humor and was able to give us exactly the amount of information an interested day traveler needs. He was also always able to answer questions. The 'waiting area' is actually a small exhibition - very well done (but hey, it's UNESCO money). We visited the museum afterwards. The boat ride through the 4 elements was fun but felt like a waste of UNESCO money at the same time. The rest of the museum was excellent, great fun especially for teenagers and young adults. Very modern. Very good.…
