I spent a great day with Janet and Linda touring the park. They picked me up from the airport and we drove straight to Pilanesberg. The drive was packed with interesting information about Pilanesberg, as well as South African history and culture. In the park, both Linda and Janet were excellent animal and bird spotters, I saw plenty of wildlife.... More

I was travelling with three others who had never been to J'burg and we only had one day to show them the city. Ekala Eco Tours provided the perfect solution with a six hour fully escorted tour that was fantastic and left my first timers with an informed and widespread view of the city, Soweto, the Apartheid Museum and much... This was such a good decision to select Ekala Eco Tours to provide me with some local experiences to enhance what had been a good tour of Africa. My friend and I were picked up at Johannesburg airport after we came through customs. There was no trouble finding them. We were driven to their lovely guesthouse where we stayed for... More

My partner and I spent a wonderful day with Janet of Ekala Eco Tours while we were staying in Johannesburg. We booked a day-long tour that began at the Cradle of Mankind. We visited Maropeng which is a museum dedicated to the evolution of our species. It is both kid and adult friendly. We also toured the Sterkfontein Cave; which... More

Besides staying at Ekala Guest House and love it, we also used their services of Day Tours. Janet, the mother of the family and our guide was awesome. Besides her knowledge of the history of South Africa, her love for her country is contagious. We enjoyed all her talk... we appreciated all her patience when we got lost amidst so... More

We cannot thank Janet and Linda enough for making our trip so special. Janet was a veritable font of knowledge. She made the history of South Africa come alive for us. She was so enthusiastic about her country, the people, and the future. She acknowledged problems but did not focus on the negative rather the positive. As we went to... More

My family toured with Janet and Linda for four days, and they were incredibly knowledgeable. We toured Johannesburg, Soweto, the Apartheid Museum, the elephant and monkey sanctuaries, the cheetah center, Pretoria, and the Cradle of Humankind. The trip is among my very favorite experiences, due in large part to their wonderful tours. My young children were treated with extraordinary patience... More

Janet was our guide for two days, and she's lovely and very knowledgeable, great to talk to. We went to the elephant sanctuary as well as the cheetah sanctuary on one day - which was a great itinerary suggested by them. The following day we went to the Rhino and Lion reserve and went on a safari on Janet's car.... More

I was with Janet Davis for 2 1/2 days, and she was terrific! Professional, warm, confident, and funny. She was very knowledgeable regarding the history of SA and also shared her life experience of growing up under apartheid. She was a wonderful guide in Pilanesberg and her eagle eye spotted a zebra giving birth. We visited the monkey and elephant... More

Malcolm took us to Cradle of Mankind and Sterkforntein Cave for a half day tour. We learned a great deal about the area while traveling to the Heritage Site and then were fascinated with the vicinity and the dig itself. The second tour was an all day one with emphasis on Soweto, Apartheid Museum and downtown Johannesburg. We thought the... More
