About
Huddle Park... WAY more than a golf course! We are proud to offer golf in a picturesque setting with meticulously-groomed greens in the heart of Johannesburg. Situated in Linksfield, this historic and nostalgic piece of magic that was once a very special place for golfers and their families has risen from the ashes again on 1 November 2013, with the Blue Course opening. Our public golf course has been revived to bring entertainment and joy to all our visitors, with Golf always being our key focus. EVERYBODY is WELCOME. We have a restaurant and other activities offered are TRAILS: Run/Walk/MTB & Dog Walking, Acrobranch, Gym & Snappy Carwash.

I was extremely disappointed at the treatment we received from the staff at Huddle Park. I called in and booked an 18 hole game of Golf for 4 people, we are all university students (stated such on the call ensuring a student booking). Upon arrival, we were rudely told that there is no such thing at huddle park and were charged full price. Referring to the green fees sheet attached which is on their website, it clearly shows the student rates, we were told there is nothing they can do. Money is not the issue, it is the principle behind such and the manner in which they dealt with it, The fact that they did not honour what is advertised on their website is extremely dissatisfying, this is not the first time we have received ill treatment from the staff at huddle park.

Been cycling there weekly for about 10 months as i live in the area, this morning i pay at pro shop and then start the ride.
Barely 200m to the course I hear shouting behind, look back and its a golf cart, i do another 50m and his realise his clearly shouting at me, much like you would call someone on the street.
I stop and he doesnt greet, he just asks if I'm a member, i say no im not and smiles and asks what im doing here, i say i did pay, my arm band was under my sleeve. He says ok and wants to leave when i ask since when they chase customers down, looking around i obviuosly realize why i was asked so i ask him how many people he stopped today and he says no one just you. In 9 months , riding there weekly i have never been stopped before so i know that this is not a consistantly applied.
Obviously i didnt feel like the trail thereafter so went back up to office to complain and leave.
There i meet the manager who has absolutely zero etiquette and customer service. He got incredibly angry at my complaint and said he already got the story from the staff member buy ja im the customer so must be right.
I went to mount bike as im clearly not riding there and supporting this business further but i go back to him to ask for refund, he says i must first meet with him and staff member whereas i am really just want leave as i cannot believe the way Huddle Park treat customers.
Got home and called them to process refund and same manager kinda just told me that people are dying and i am alive so just shouldnt complain about life. I can do what i want he will even get the director to call me and he has 400 members and no eyes on the back on the back of his head, i apologised that i upset him for the day... cos he was very angry at me.
No call from director ofcourse.
This situation could've been handled much better with competant management, i dont know why an establishment would be run with such an aweful approach towards service.
Very sad as it was on my doorstep but cannot support the park any longer..

We often go to huddle park, and love it there. However we have had about three very unpleasant encounters with one of the staff members. There is a man who often works behind the counter in the shop and I think might be in some management position, he has felt the right to raise his voice (in a yelling manner creating a scene) at us on multiple occasions for things that could probably have been handled much better. It almost feels like a father who is trying to reprimand his child and honestly it is very demeaning. I have seen him be very bland with other clients as well. Perhaps he needs to be put in his place and made to understand we are paying customers and so is everyone else. Besides that, we are humans. There is no need to treat people badly.

We walk our dogs at Huddle park most weekends. Apart from being lush and scenic, the park is clean and the area is large so socialised dogs can run off lead. There is water and our dogs swim so they get a little muddy at times. It’s R50 pp to enter but worth it as it’s clean, fenced, not crowded and well maintained. We get exercise and so do the dogs.
After our walks we walk or drive up to the outdoor restaurant for coffee or a meal. It is dog friendly and has a grass seating area.

Whilst the layout and facilities are good, the pro shop cashiers/staff are always rude and unhelpful. They need younger staff there.

We do have 2 staff in their 20's 1 staffer in his 30's and a manager in his 40's. All our staff are quite young with a good spread currently.

Very nice golf course and off the course there is a lot to keep the kids entertained while you have something cold or to eat..

Huddle Park was originally just a golf course. Based in Linksfield, it is still a popular venue for golfers, however it has become far more. There is a restaurant where you can eat inside or outside, a kid's playground aea, with a trampoline, trout fishing facilities, and a miniature golf course. Its a treat for dogs, who are always welcome. There's a dedicated dog walking area, and you are also welcome to have your dog sit with you while you eat, provided he/she is on a lead and you clean up any ooopsies!
Its a great place to hold an event with conferencing and catering facilities onsite.

Plenty outdoor activities to do there for whole family - golf course, fishing, putt putt, walk dogs, restaurant etc. hidden gem of JHB!!
