Visited and did a self drive trip with the family.... We hit the jackpot when around the corner at one of the water holes we spotted a massive herd of elephants. Was
an amazing experience and will definitely be back and take up their guided tours next time.

We were staying outside of Addo and booked an all day and an evening game drive. Both were excellent, the drivers so knowledgeable. Our only slight criticism was that the all day drive could have been a little shorter as the morning and the bbq were the best bits! However would highly recommend

Elephants at the water holes & our guide’s excellent knowledge & friendly & professional attitude. We saw everything we hoped to see with lots of encounters with so many beautiful elephants as well as other animals such warthogs, kudu, zebra, dung beetle & numerous birds. Felt safe at all times. Brunch was delicious. Easy to book online. Arrived punctually & driven to & from our accommodation. An excellent trip.

I booked for the sunset game drive at Addo and was disappointed right off the bat. Having tried to phone and just got a ringing and un-answered phone multiple times, I finally got through after a month of trying at all hours of the day, only to be greeted rudely and put on hold while the ladies discussed whether I had hung up yet or not! I eventually got through to a Cape Town number and the person I spoke to was helpful and organised my game drive very efficiently.

The actual game drive was a complete let-down. CK, as the game ranger introduced himself as, made jokes and shared nothing of value. I think my family and I all knew more than he did and having gone to see and learn, that was extremely unimpressive. I had expected to go where normal vehicles didn't and we stuck mainly to the main roads which was disappointing. We saw very few animals (not his fault but since the lions are collared, I had expected better) and the best part of the whole experience were the snacks provided.

The game drive was more expensive than our accommodation and we saw far more doing our own drive through Addo the next day. Definitely will never do a game drive with Sanparks Addo again and would never suggest a friend go either.

Good Morning @pipjean. You booked a game drive directly with Sanparks (South African National Parks) and not with us at Addo Game Drives. I am however very sad You had a terrible experience. Please book directly with Addo Game Drives next time. We would really love for you to experience Addo with us.

Linda Peinemann - My photography group tour from Germany spent a complete day at Addo and took home some fantastic images. The tour was part of our 7-Day Photography Adventure Tour with Raggy Charters. This most experienced team not only organizes water safaris but also introduces visitors to the magical wildlife experiences in and around Port Elizabeth.

Joel has been a wonderful guide. His knowledge about the species and the ecosystem they are part of goes very deep and he does a perfect job to tell interesting and funny stories about them. I was the only participant so I feel very honored that they did not cancel the tour. The BBQ was also very nice, they even offer vegetarian or vegan sausages if you tell them before the trip about your diet choices. All in all a really great experience!

We went for the full day safari last week and it was a blast. Thanks to our great guide Joel we were able spot 4 lions on the day. 4!!!!. Most people are lucky to spot 1. We also got a rare treat when we saw a standoff between a lion and 2 young elephant bulls. It was amazing! Apart from that we were able to see lots of birds, warthogs, elephants and many more. Another highlight was watching a lion cross the road and just stamp his authority. All of these sightings were possible because of our amazing guide Joel(talking addopedia) and his great knowledge of animal behaviour. His off road vechile with high seating(helps to see over bushes and other cars) was an added bonus and saved me the stress of driving a rental round wild animals. I highly recommend doing this safari as it well organised, the lunch was amazing and the whole experience is just great. I am certain we would have missed most of these encounters had we done the self drive thing due to our lack of local terain and animal habits and limited view from car seats.) I was a bit worried that my kids 5 and 6yrs might get bored, but that was not the case. They had a great view of everything and enjoyed spotting the animals and marking them off on a little map and animal chart provided by our guide. Planning our safari was effortless. All it took was a few emails between Clint and I and it was all set. The whole trip was very professional and service was great. I highly recommend these guys...and Joel our guide is a true African legend.(Toerien fam -Warsaw, Poland)

We highly recommend this trip, which was very professionally organised from the time we were picked up (7:30) to the delicious and plentiful lunch. My husband and I had an unforgettable experience thanks to our very competent and funny guide, Joel. He is well acquainted with the area and has a vast understanding of the flora and fauna of the park as well as the animals' habits so that he knows where to go to spot them. We were also amazed at his ability to spot animals from a long distance! We weren't that lucky to see the  complete big 5, but we saw buffalos, elephants, warthogs, kudu, ostriches, elands, monkeys, different birds and many more. We were also impressed by the flexibility of the organisation. A member of our group had to leave a bit earlier because he had to catch a flight and Clint, the organiser, had no problem to come pick him up and drop him at the airport. Joel and Clint, thank you for this unique experience!
