Absolutely awesome experience. The accommodation was lovely at the Giraffe Chalet. My 85 year old mother slept on the double bed downstairs and could watch the animals from her bed. The game drive is a must. The guide was very informative. All staff were very friendly and accommodating. A good place to stay and see your bucket list animals: giraffe, rhino (sans their horns) and buffalo as well as many favourites like zebra and a variety of buck.

Kragga Kamma was a great day trip
We did the guided game drive on the back of a vehicle. It was a really excellent experience as the park's vehicle could go off the road where other vehicles had to stay on and we got close to the animals. We also had the insight of the ranger with info about the specific animals the self drive people didn't have. We now know the matriag rhino is called Chuck Norris and that he sometimes do a mock charge (not this time however). We also know why the lions are in the big enclosure and not running wild and that their lifes now is a lot better there than is was before. We also saw them in the shades under a tree where we would've missed them if we did the self drive. Afterwards we had a small lunch with drinks in the restaurant that was really good. We had the crumbed mushrooms with chips, as well as the kids' nuggets and chips. We ended the meal with really good (and bigger than at most places) cappuchinos. The prices of all the food items was a real surprise and much more affordable than most other places we have been to this holiday. Well done Kragga Kamma. Keep it that way please. You cater for the budget of the general South African without taking away the taste experience.

    Lovely day at the park
We went on a tour with African experience from port Elizabeth cruise terminal. It was a very very hot 🥵 day. The predators and herds are separated due to space I guess. The roads off the main trail are very bumpy indeed ! Our tour guide was great. The cafe was good very friendly efficient service

    Thank you
9 of us in three chalets. A quick drive from the airport, stop at the mall. Pick up food and beverages. Arrive to a warm welcome and head to chalets - giraffes yards away. Magic. Do a self drive, good fun. Sadly we were in a 10 seat Toyota so did not risk the more adventurous parts of the drive but saw plenty of game and loved the lion story. Equipment in kitchen basic but rustled up steak sandwiches and then sat outside and enjoyed, simply enjoyed. Had to leave early, no issues. We all really enjoyed it here. Thank you

We visited the game park today and decided to take the self drive option which was R100 per person. Just as well,as had we gone on an official tour this would have been R265 per person. The route was clearly delineated but was pretty rough in places and more suitable for a 4x4 vehicle. We saw a couple of rhino's plus a baby, giraffes, ostrich, and some lionesses who were very difficult to observe from the viewing platform. Also a few warthog. We unfortunately entered the cheetah enclosure but didn't catch a glimpse of one. There was however a small enclosure near a play area and bush cafe where a small cheetah could be observed, which delighted all the children.
All in all a disappointing visit in view of the fact that we had travelled two hours by road.

The kids wanted a day out so we decided to visit Kragga Kamma Game Park for the day. The entrance gate was manned and also the place you have to pay to enter the park it was a bit slow and we waited a while to enter with only 2 vehicles in front of us.
Upon entering we were immediately greeted by the most stunning scene with Rhinos standing just next to the road they where so relaxed we could watch them eat for a while. The roads are marked but still a bit confusing at times and the part where the cheetahs are kept is very overgrown and really tuff to spot them. The big part where the lions are kept in is also not easy to spot them and most people turned away and didn't know to just drive around and see them from another side. There are plenty of game and a nice big area for picnic and for the kids to enjoy. Its most probably the best park in P.E and close surroundings.

How amazing is it that we don’t have far to go in order to enjoy some beautiful South African wildlife?
The Kragga Kamma Game Park offers an easy self-drive option, or you can sit back and relax and let someone else drive you around the park.
We love driving ourselves and we love the fact that we get to see so many animals. Buck in abundance, Zebra, giraffe and if you are lucky you get to see the Rhino too. There is also a quaint restaurant to stop at and you can take a walk on the “Monkey Walk” and hopefully get to see some monkeys or Duiker.
I also love sitting and watching the rescued Lions and the Cheetah, it is truly a great day out!

Visited in September and the animals in the park were as abundant as my early April visit. White rhino were reasonably close to the road, resting in shade.

Recent rains did however cause deep potholes which presented driving challenges for a small Toyota Corolla in at least 2 areas. I would hope that these holes could be filled. Perhaps visitors could also be warned when entering the park. Unfortunately the loop road is one directional so there is no opportunity to turn back. The condition of the roads had deteriorated since April but I suspect that the recent rains had negatively impacted conditions.

Worth a visit if in a higher vehicle.

We did a day visit at Kragga Kamma on recommendation of where we were staying. For us it was a bit disappointing. It was a fun experience especially if you have kids. The food is nice and the staff is friendly. However i felt the cheetah and lion enclosures where way to small. Two of the cheetah’s had quite a bit of space with bush to hide and roam around. The third en separated cheetah however, had a much smaller area with little to no hiding options. When asked by a visitor if the cheetahs are ever mentally stimulated by having them chase anything (not even prey but a ball/snack or anything like that) the staff member answered they weren’t because they didn’t want the cheetahs to then see small children walking next to the fence as prey. Which i think really is only in the best interest of the visitor and making money, not the best interest of the cheetah’s. Same goes for the lions. Seeing where they came from (being rescued) this was 100x better than a cage. But there was no bush for them to hide, so the visitors can spot them more easily. And the enclosure was, in my opinion, way to small to keep them ‘as naturally as possible’ like the staff keeps telling you. This to me, could have been much better!

Saw some great animals here including elephants, giraffe, zebra, warthogs etc but the real highlight was seeing 5 rhino really close to. We stayed there watching them for about 30 minutes. There was a Mum, Dad and small baby plus a romantic couple who were being really loving but also so gentle. We also saw some sleepy lions at the end and Monty the tame cheetah. Lovely morning spent there.

This small game park is an easy trip from central Port Elizabeth. Incredibly good value, we spent the morning seeing all the animals, then had a very good light lunch. It's not the Big Five experience you'll get in Kruger, or even at Addo, but you'll see zebras, antelopes, rhinos, giraffes, ostriches, warthogs and most probably lions and cheetahs. And if you stop for lunch you'll definitely see monkeys!
Game drives were on offer, but we just did the self-drive option. A game drive would have got us closer to the rhinos and giraffes.
