Whale, Dolphin & Penguin Island Cruise

109 reviews
Our cruise is unique in that we operate in the diverse Algoa Bay, rich in wildlife and history. Visiting St Croix island, home to half the worlds remaining endangered African Penguins. This tour is run just once a day instead of trying to run multiple cruises in one day. This ensures that our skippers and guides are fresh and alert for every cruise and makes it possible to spend more time and effort searching for wildlife in our Bay or observing something special that we come across provided that no one on board is in a rush to get back for a flight or bookings previously made. Our main focus is education, conservation and assisting in research which is made possible by the funds generated from our Marine Eco-Cruises out into Algoa Bay. Trees are planted to balance our carbon footprint for each cruise conducted. We use smaller boats so as to keep our cruises personal. Our skippers and Guides are very knowledge and are there to answer any questions and see to the needs of our Guests.

An experience you absolutely cannot skip when you are in Port Elisabeth! Don't be afraid, get out of your comfort zone and go !! A very special, inspiring and loving experience. I can say a lot about it, but it is best to experience it by yourself. Learn, see, enjoy, listen and broaden your horizons by visiting Hand in Hand Visual Art studio.

Visiting the Hand in Hand Art Studio and the ensuing conversations and connection with Sukhumzi, Msindisi, and family and friends in the community created probably the most meaningful and powerful experiences of our month-long travel in South Africa. There is clearly a strong desire and movement to utilize the strengths of the community to create positive projects to benefit young people in the neighborhood of Motherwell. The creativity, passion, and heart of the artistic community, from visual art to music and more, is inspiring. In addition to the wonderful artwork itself, the greatest asset of the Hand in Hand Art Studio is the explanation of the meaning of the art, the tour of the community, and the conversation with Sakhumzi and other creative minds. Therefore I highly recommend contacting Sakhumzi beforehand to arrange a date and time for your visit. On a side note, we also learned how to make dumplings (south african bread) with Sahumzi's mother and we think it will become a staple food of ours back home. : ) Because of the personalized nature of the experience at Hand in Hand Art Studio, everyone's experience will be unique. Go into it with an open mind and see where it takes you!

The art in this place is really amazing, it tells a story. And the brothers/artists are super friendly and talented. Further they are a good influence on the neighborhood and encourage children to paint. You should definitely visit the place and you will get inspired.

What an experience! We started the tour in the Art gallery from Sakumzi and his brother. After that we went into the township to explore some more art. It's nice to see the township from this side, it was a very positive way of showing life and the people from the township. We would definitely recommend this to friends and family as it is something you wouldn't do on a mainstream travel, but this made our trip extraordinary. Thanks you for this nice experience and the beautiful art we bought!

We so enjoyed our tour given by local artist and inspiration, Sakumzi. What he and his brother are doing in their community is inspiring...teaching the local youth about art through expression is something to see. They are making a difference and their art (which is for sale) is just as impressive.
