Well, that was a fantastic safari for viewing| Unfortunately the leopard is a very shy animal and not always seen on safari. We are very pleased you did enjoy your visit and took the time to make the review.

The tour was very good seeing 4 out of the big 5 and seeing most animals expected on a safari and the game rangers take you right up close to the animals which was phenomenal. Would highly recommend.

Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve - Rhino Base Camp (8 Replies)
Hello, I am going to Cape Town for 3 weeks in December and I am planning a week in Plettenberg Bay which I have already booked a few nights in a B&B on the beach. I would like to stay a few nights at the Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve and I just would like to know if anyone has stayed here and what they thought. Thank you for your help. Kindest Regards Julie

The reserve is 1300 hectares, which is quite small. There lions will be fed.

Garden Route Itinery & Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve (3 Replies)
Hi In Nov we are in Cape Town for 4 days, Franschhoek for 2 days then have 6 days to "do" the Garden Route before flying from Port Elizabeth to Durban to do Battlefields tour. Having probs deciding where to stay on Garden Route before going to Plettenberg Bay for a couple of days to tour the area - i.e. Knysna, Tsitsikamma. Also have seen (think on a TA review) Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve and wondered if this would be good for a day? (Although different we have done Kenyan safari so were...More

If you have six days there is no need to spend all of it actually on the Garden route - I suggest 3/4 nights at Plettenberg is likely to be sufficient, so I suggest at least two nights getting there from Franschhoek and this will give you time to explore the fantastic Route62 which is a tremendous contrast to the Garden route. The most obvious place to stay is Oudtshoorn as there is plenty to see and do in this area - Swartberg Pass drive, Cango Caves, ostrich farm, and if you like animals...More
