There is something for everyone at the Floradale centre. This starts with the nursery itself where one can meander through the well laid out gardens. They offer a wide array of pots; garden ornaments and indigenous trees and plants.
Don't miss the small shop which is full of arts and crafts, many of which are made locally, the store is well laid out and a good place to shop for those special gifts. Then the best of all is Café Jardin (used to be called Brady's). They serve up some awesome coffee and this is a great place for a family breakfast. If the weather is good, walk through the main restaurant and select a seat underneath the wonderful old trees.

As hard as this may be to believe, East London appears to have even less "must-see" sights than we thought.

It appears the management team at Floradale's, one of East London's highest regarded retail venues, clearly are not so self-obsessed to spend too much time online, and were obviously un-aware that their Florist/Craft/Tea-shoppe centre had proved so popular with the public that one particularly enthusiastic fan accidentally appears to have voted it onto the top-sights list twice, where it now manages to really impress everybody by managing to be East London 6th AND 7th most recommended place to visit !!!

Click on the Floradale listing, you see the picture of the clearly see the Craft centre in it's photos, and the way their locations do not appear to overlap is because instead of the road being correctly listed as Old Transkei Road (which appears on the Craft Centre's details) Floradale location appears less clear. Floradale is indeed on the old road to Gonubie, but how that conveniently appears to be written as The Old Gonubie Road is less apparent.

Whilst is is highly unlikely that anybody directly connected with a venue held in the esteem Floradale enjoys would have orchestrated this "error" I find the idea of them having no idea of the situation confusing, as it is not as if the Trip Advisor site is some minor overlooked website and yet its the public who end up figuring it out ????

P.S...... It doesn't matter if the Craft Gallery is somehow seperate from the nursery, making it a second attraction. Getting two winning places is like a large shopping mall managing to win ALL the places in a top sights list, so don't even go there !!!!

Floradale Fine Art is a relatively new gallery in the Floradale Centre complex, and is sponsored by the Muller Family. The Gallery is a co-operative venture of, presently, 6 artists of the Eastern Cape and a number of guest exhibitors. The disciplines of Painting, Drawing, Printing, Sculpture and Collage plus assemblage are well featured. A craft section features interesting works such as Ceramics, Stained Glass and Jewellery.

The gallery seeks to enhance the profile of great work being produced in Eastern Cape, as well as promote visual arts produced by guest artists, and present it to the public in a way that is uplifting, inspiring and enriching. The gallery is open 6 days a week and one of the gallery artists is always on hand to answer any questions. Opening times: Monday to Saturday from 10am until 3pm.

The nursery has been in Beacon bay area for many years and is well established. The owner, Gerald and his son are well versed in helping you get all your plant requirements in relaxed surroundings. His staff, too, are keen to help you with your selections. They have a wide variety of seedlings, plants, shrubs and trees at competitive prices. Their nursery is my first choice when i need to buy plants. The average time spent there varies from 30 to 45 minutes.

We had a great time at this wonderful new venue. Lovely to have an outside area, a deck within a park like area, relaxed atmosphere and accommodating as we shifted tables around to accommodate extra people. Friendly staff and nice live music.

I so enjoy browsing at the quaint little gift shop, then wandering around the nursery admiring and always buying a plant or seedlings. The staff are very helpful and informative. Then what better than relaxing with a lovely cup of tea or even a meal. On sunny days it is great to sit ourtdoors and watch the children play in the playground.

If u need a timeout and some fresh air pop into the floradale centre to recharge. Wonder through the nursery and grab a plant to take home or just enjoy the variety on offer. Kiddie friendly restaurants with good wholesome food. Craft shop showcasing some interesting arts and crafts and if u lucky an art exhibition to view.

I love going to the Floradale country shopping centre. Not only does it satisfy the nurturer in me ( love flowers, herbs, and rock plants), but also brings out my creativity.

The Craft Gallery has a wide range of ethnic and contemporary stuff. Not only does one get fabulous ideas from their goods, one can also purchase supplies from them.

The nursery is a gardener's dream.

Then we get to the Country Bumpkin ( a beautiful little "coffee shop" that carries a lovely menu. As a vegetarian, I find amny options available. Then the fun part is that there is a huge beautiful Kid friendly garden ( more like a small kiddies park). this keeps the little ones entertained. Real Probelm trying to get them back to the table to finish their meals.

I love this place.
