the live display of snakes and being able to hold some more tame snakes was great. The staff are really knowledgeable and obviously love the snakes. My 8 year old daughter was so excited to hold snakes. We had a great time, but it is small so 1 or 2 hours should be enough to see everything.

I visited the snake-park in February, and they had a superb collection, so if you want snakes, they got snakes.....

Three points worth mentioning :

Look up the opening times, or phone, as they don't open every day and it's a long way to go if you turn up on one of their days-off.

It's on the road to Stutterheim, and also on this road, but before you get to the snakes, there are two other farms that attempt to lure in tourists, how worthwhile they are I don't know, but if you are on the hunt for sights, there is a Lion Park and some a museum dedicated to preserving and dispalying old farm wagons, tractors or something equally gripping.

They have a well-stocked farmyard of friendly animals, ducks, piglets, that sort of thing, and you can take the children there to play, and it looked like lots of fun, the farm-animals were very touch-able. It would make an excellent treat for children, and there is a separate pricing structure, so you can cut out the snakes all together if you want to play with the piglets instead.

It was my our absolute pleasure to visit this amazing attraction of the East Cape of South Africa!

Both my wife 'Evelyn' and I have a fascination in all animals and creatures of this Earth, and the exceptional Education shared by the Owner and all the Reptile handlers was wonderful.

I am an educator and lecturer in various vocations and also enjoy enormously speaking on Australian Animals, and I had the pleasure to co-present with the Owner of the Park on our second visit during this Trip, as they also have a wonderful collection of well over 1,000 Snakes and Reptiles from across the Globe including Australia, so I had the pleasure of sharing with the visitors of the Park on this visit a little on the Reptiles, and particularly the venomous snakes of Australia.

Both my wife and I have visited most of the best Parks across the Globe with all varieties of creatures of this Earth, and I wouldn't hesitate in stating this was the most enjoyable one pertaining to Snakes we have ever visited.

If you are heading to the East Cape, particularly near East London, South Africa, put this attraction on your list as a must do. Ring first to find out when the Demonstrations are on so you can really get up close and have photo's with some of the best snakes I have held from across the Globe. Don't worry, you don't get to hold the venous ones. :)

We look forward to revisiting this wonderful attraction, when next we return to South Africa.

Enjoy one and all, Associate Professor Dr Greg Keyes, PhD & Mrs Evelyn Keyes, BSc.

Oh wow - I remember being young and going to this park, but now it is just insane - it is so interesting and has so much to offer - I loved it - I actually got 4 snakes from them to take home and they have made the most amazing pets - the guys there are chilled and are happy to have a chat about what they do and all the reptiles there.
I loved it when I was young but its crazy good now.

A great experience, even if you don't (like myself) like snakes.
Enjoy a meal and refreshments and maybe even a game of golf.

Definitely a must see! It took me more that a year to finally go...because...snakes! But went with kids...and can now totally recommend. If you've been to snake parks before, you might remember that slightly creeped out feeling. Not here. The snakes are beautifully displayed and I could really appreciate their beauty for the first time. Deon makes sure that everyone gets a personal encounter and his knowledge is freely shared. Also enjoyed the other weird little creatures... Love it...will go again and again. Go!

Apex Predators Snake Park is situated in a large compound along the N6 called the Python Park, which also houses a golf course, touch farm, and restaurant. So even if you do not want to see any of the snakes, there are other activities in the area that your family can enjoy. Apex Predators has probably one of the most diverse collections of snakes in the Eastern Cape area. They also have other types of reptiles like lizards and chameleons. You have a choice of going through the displays by yourself or getting a tour with one of the staff or volunteers who are all very knowledgeable. It's best to go on weekends because they have a snake show in the morning where they showcase different kinds of snakes (venomous and non-venomous ones), lizards, etc. They will even let you touch some of the snakes (the non-venomous ones, of course). The facility is well-maintained and the owner, Deon, is very friendly and accommodating. This place is definitely worth a visit if you love snakes or would just love to know more about them.
