We walked inside and was wowed by the vast array of rocks and products made from rocks. When you think you have seen it all, there are doors that lead to an outside area that has even more rocks! I ended up buying four pieces of petrified wood by the pound. It costs $2 per pound so four decent size pieces was $7. This was way cheaper than I had seen it at other places. It was not polished and in its natural state. I gave each of my grandkids a rock and they seemed more impressed by it than the countless tee shirts I have bought over the years.

Shop Here! Friendly staff and a superb selection of petrified wood, fish fossils, geodes, jewelry, pottery, stone carvings, wood carvings and on and on. The store is large and there’s an outdoor area showcasing larger petrified wood specimens. Outside there is a magnificent swing with carved bears on either end as the swing supports.

We purchased a petrified wood, two carved wooden animals and a fish fossil. All at great prices. The stores in the National Park were almost double these prices.

I’ve lived in the southwest for a few years now, and I’m always checking out rock shops. This was by far the best!! Excellent selection, super reasonable prices considering what cool stuff they have, and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. There was also a lot of interesting museum items mixed in, I took a ton of pictures. I definitely recommend stopping here if you’re in the Holbrook area, and be sure to check out the bathrooms, they have cool stuff on display in there too!

This place has a beautiful assortment of petrified wood and many other minerals. Many items are delicate and expensive, so keep children under control. Rough specimens are competitively priced, but the selection is many times what the other sellers have. We bought several items.

This is a very interesting shop. Don't miss this place after visiting the Petrified Forest, or any time you're in the area. They have unique items such as petrified wood in all forms...glazed with display stands, raw bulk form, etc. They have a large assortment of rocks, fossils, shark teeth, and more. There are specimens on display like a mini museum of sorts, and many things to purchase. The store space is quite large and there is an outdoor space as well.

We spent the day at the Petrified Forest National Park. In our information received from the OK RV Resort in Holbrook , there was a coupon for a free half pound of petrified wood from Jim Gray’s Petrified Wood Company. So we stopped in there to redeem that on our way back to the OK RV Resort.

Jim Gray’s place has a HUGE selection of petrified wood— as well as an enormous amount of all sorts of other semi precious gemstones and minerals and crystals and all things “rocks.” And there is a museum and personal collection available to look at. We spent two hours there and enjoyed every minute!

The staff was available and helpful if you had questions and there was a very relaxed attitude.... no pressure. In fact, I was surprised and pleased that I could touch and look at the bead selections. I have been in several Bead Store’s in many different places where the person working there doesn’t want you touching beads!

The personal collection of American Indian jewelry, pottery and artifacts was as good as if not better than many museums we have been in. As well as the fossil collection and the beautiful minerals, crystals, geodes and petrified wood—I was impressed by the very large selection and price range available.

It’s Worth the trip! My husband and I both really enjoyed it. Oh! And the rock yard outside! That’s where I was directed to go to pick out my own free 1/2 pound of petrified wood. We will definitely make a point to recommend Jim Gray’s as well as visit again in the future. Whether you want a trinket type souvenir or a beautiful piece of furniture costing thousands of dollars—this is the place!

I took plenty of photos but I’m not able to load them unfortunately.

After overspending elsewhere I stumbled on this shop. I wish I had known about them before!! They have a super selection of both petrified wood items/objects and also the standard Arizona souvenirs...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The sales person was really nice!

We had a coupon in our KOA book for a free piece of petrified wood so we stopped by. The place reminded us of the Bowlin Running Indian places along the interstates. They were pretty busy. My wife waited in line quite a while just to find out she could go out to a yard and pick her own wood. Would have been nice if she'd known sooner so she wouldn't have had to stand in line as long. She did get a pretty decent sized piece of wood and it was free.

Lots of things to check out and shop for! Used our coupon from OK RV Park for free piece of petrified wood which is fist-sized, hefty, and interesting to look at. Purchased pieces of crystal quartz, rose quartz, amethyst, snowflake obsidian, and some magnetic stones. Relaxing koi pond inside, stocked. Only thing that was off putting is theh really watch you and follow you around to make sure there's no shoplifting. I understand why, as there are a lot of precious pieces here, but it still feels a bit awkward.

This place is HUGE! So much to see and a crazy amount of gifts, furniture and collectibles. You can go out and choose your own pieces as well. This place is very easy to find, just on the edge of town heading towards the Painted Desert. Worth a visit, for sure.
