This stop was a perfect stop along our road trip. It served many purposes. Stretching those legs, clean bathroom break, nifty randoms buys at the gift shop, plenty of dates and samples, and shakes!!! Quick, clean, friendly stop! Will do again if passing through!

We used to always stop in Dateland when we were much younger traveling with our parents. It was a place to stretch our legs and we always got to have a date shake (if we behaved!) On a recent trip to Yuma on the I-8, we decided to stop at Dateland to try the famous date shakes again. We hadn't... More

This is really a great place to stop off for leg stretching (the Gift Shop has lots of stuff to look at, so we make the rounds), for a treat (Those shakes are a real treat ! Got a "Cactus Shake" today (10/11), and it was so delicious), a bathroom break (the bathrooms are always super clean), and now, as... More

Was driving from Arizona to San Diego along route 8 or 10... What a fantastic break from mountains and sand..drive along the border which is all flat and follow a train that's also heading in the same direction.. A lot of farms and migrants..a true beauty to see how and where our fruits and veggies come from.. Then stop off... More

Stopped by on our way from San Diego. Very clean restrooms & store. Great souvenirs, good prices. Had a date shake freshly made it was delicious. They have pet kennels with a misting system & water so you can leave your pet to stretch while you go inside.

Like one prior traveler said, we have driven by here so many times and said to ourselves, we have to stop for a Date Shake sometime. By this point in our travels we were usually more interested in getting to our destination than stopping for a break. Today we were on no timeline. The travel center is very nice, anything... More

If I were only going to stop once on I-8 when traveling between Phoenix or Tucson and California this would be my stop as it has everything a traveler could want-exceptionally clean restrooms, gas station, gift shop, huge selection of snacks and souvenirs, a Quiznos, ice cream bar featuring date shakes, a selection of their own private label date products... I had passed by Dateland innumerable times on my way to Tucson. On one trip my curiosity (or maybe I was just bored and needed to stop) got the best of me. I pulled off, pulled in and ordered a date shake. Needless to say, I have been back quite a few times since. Date shakes sound goofy, but they... More

Stopped here on our way to Sedona. This place has amazing dates, and anything else you could possibly need. And clean restrooms!

We have seen this place in the middle of nowhere on other trips and finally decided to stop in. It was good and we were glad we stopped. It's pretty much as others have described. I had a small date shake and she had a cone of ice cream. Both were very good, but pricey. The date samples were a... More
