While on vacation in Scottsdale my daughter was super excited about driving to Alcantara to tour the winery and do a tasting. She had recently turned 21 and had researched things to do and Alcantara was one of her top choices because of the Friday...More

Took a private tour. This was the first we did. The staff is quite nice. The site itself must be nicer when the vines are all green. White is not their best but took sone red home.

We went after a day of walking and it was a great reward to sip some wine and relax! Nice selection of red wines which I enjoy but couldn’t quite find the right one to get a glass of.

Enjoyed our experience. We did not find the outdoor area that beautiful, but we are from the east coast which has much prettier outdoor areas. It was also fall and the vines were turning. The wines were delicious. We loved the reisling and pinot grigio....More

My five reasons for you to visit this winery: 1. Beautiful setting along the Verde River. Winery is accessed from Highway 260 via Thousand Hills Road and a dirt road of about a mile, a lovely scenic drive. 2. Artfully well designed winery building with...More

Alcantara makes the best viognier wine in the world! Although getting to the Vineyard is slightly daunting (narrow unpaved road), you soon find yourself in paradise. Inside the building you are greeted by a hostess. You seat yourself and order a tasting (recommended) and an...More

Wine was excellent. Service not. Bartender not very personable. She was too busy talking to a man at the bar to pay attention to customers

Did a short visit to Alcantara recently. Was surprised to drive back on the gravel road to find a little Tuscany in Arizona. Great explanation of wines by the enthusiastic owner. Took home a couple bottles of Meritage which we are enjoying immensely. Thanks
