- xenophile19 contributionsA Must DoThis was an exceptional experience. I did the Premier Ride and highly recommend it. Gina was my guide, and she was absolutely wonderful -- great, fun personality and very informative on history, plants, etc. The horse was excellent, and the landscapes were like something from a dream.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten October 8, 2023
- Swimmom1050111 contributionsFun trail rideThe horses looked fit and healthy. They were good on the trail, going through the river and up and down some trappy footing. There were both beginners and advanced riders in the group but everyone had a good time. Our leader was Wyatt and he did a decent job with a quick introduction to riding. Unfortunately a couple of people were late so we lost some of the views as the sun set. But there was a full moon so that was pretty awesome.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 29, 2023
- Caroline K1 contributionFun Ride Through the ValleyBest experience- totally recommend! I’m a pretty experienced rider and sometimes trail rides can be boring but not this one! I did the 1.5 hour premier ride by myself and it was perfect, my guide was wonderful and we trotted and cantered through the trial which was quite challenging but fun (we even galloped down the road!). While we were walking he told me a bit about the area and was very knowledgeable. But don’t worry if you’re less experienced they accommodate any skill level especially for the premier ride (but also for the group). My horse was well taken care of and a fun ride. Would 100% do again if I’m in the area!Visited December 2023Traveled soloWritten December 29, 2023

I planned the 1.5 hr trail ride but Turns out the 4-hr trail ride up the mountain that Christa suggested exceeded my wildest dreams! She took the time to ask me about my experience level and what I really wanted to do and it all came true! I was greeted the morning of my ride with helpful staff and could see the full pens of horses all enjoying the morning sun and fresh hay. My guide Hailey took care with our mounts and made sure all was in order. OFF WE WENT up 5,200 ft some on set trail but most off trail. The scenery was unbelievable in its beauty and ruggedness. The terrain was so challenging but the horses knew exactly what to do! Truly amazing “athletes” they are! The summit was a once in a lifetime time view of Sedona red rocks glowing! Thank you HAA for a truly magnificent experience I’ll never forget!Visited January 2024Traveled soloWritten January 7, 2024

On a sidenote, a member of our group was a special needs adult. The guides were compassionate and thoughtful. I would highly recommend!Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 9, 2024
- Aeb1955Warwick, New York9 contributionsGreat Way to See the Sedona area!I had the fortunate opportunity to spend 2 hours with David on my wonderful horse, Johnson, exploring the hills and beauty of the countryside! David was an excellent guide with all kinds of information about the environment and horses in general. I am so happy that I made the choice to enjoy this special activity!!Visited May 2024Traveled soloWritten May 15, 2024

My three kids (teen/tween-age) and I took a group ride on Dec. 28th. We were the last ones saddled up, and as we were waiting to start the ride, Nick, the guide at the rear got bucked off his horse and landed on his tailbone. His horse came galloping out of the corral and spooked our four horses, all of which started bucking and galloping. Although they calmed down again within a few seconds, it was a terrifying experience as we all thought we were going to fall from our horses, some of us on the side of a steep hill. I was hanging off the side of my horse and only pulled myself back up in the saddle after my horse was calm again.
I was terrified and speechless and figured that was the end of the ride, but neither Nick or the other guide Gina even came around to check on us or ask if we were okay. They just started the group on its way after Nick was settled back on his horse. In Nick's defense, he actually seemed quite injured from the fall so I understand he was distracted. Still, I had zero interest in continuing the ride but was given no option to get out of it, and my kids wanted to continue.
Nick mentioned he was riding his own horse, not one from the Horsin' Around stables. That didn't make me feel any better as clearly his horse led to a safety situation, possibly made worse by the other horses not being used to his.
Suffice it to say, it was an unpleasant two hour ride for me. My kids really enjoyed the rest of it (hence the two-star rating instead of one) but keep talking about how scary it was at the start. As a parent I'm just relieved none of us were hurt, as it could have been a bad situation and not just a scary one.
As for the trail, the majority of it is very steep, narrow and rocky. The horses are rear to nose in a slow line the whole time. The scenery is pretty but not remarkable (no Sedona red rocks here).

Definitely one of the best trail riding experiences ever. Beautiful countryside and very attentive staff. My horse was perfectly matched to me and I felt very comfortable and in control as an inexperienced rider. The staff was friendly and always nearby if help was needed. Loved it! Highly recommend!

I am not an experienced or good rider and not ridden a horse in maybe 4 or 5 years but this was a fantastic tour. Our guide Jeff was so nice and helpful plus fun and informative. The trail was more challenging than I had experienced but my horse JJ was so good, and this time of year the views and colors where terrific. Highly recommend.

An amazing experience! I did the private 2.5 hour trail ride during the sunset hour with my 12 year old daughter. We rode up to a mountain peak with Zach - our tour guide - who was amazing and made us feel very safe. The views are absolutely stunning and breathtaking. Totally worth it and highly recommend it if you’re in the Sedona area.

The rare experience that combines value with quality. It was an awesome 2 hours of riding. The ranch hands specifically choose each horse to match the temperament of the rider. Then once you’re on the trail they make sure to stop at the most scenic spot for pictures. I loved the stories they told about the area and how it has changed through the years. I’d definitely go back to them.

Horsin' Around Adventures is a well-run horseback riding company in Page Springs about 25 minutes from Sedona Arizona. They offer a variety of riding packages to suit different skill levels and tastes. We (Me, my wife, and two kids, ages 10 & 13) chose the 1.5 hr Cowpoke Ride. The trails wind through the base of House Mountain in the Echo Canyon. The views through the different elevation changes are spectacular!
We had three professional horse wrangles setting up each guest with a suitable mount. Ample instruction is given to the riders so they understand how to control their mount. They have a LOT of beautiful horses available, so the horses are freshly rested, and very well cared for. They don't have to use the same horses for two days in a row. The wranglers were professional, knowledgeable, and friendly.

Please beware. We had a terrible expercience and my wife was badly injured (thrown from horse and many weeks to months to recover). The trail is dangerous and have not had any response to multiple emails, texts etc from the business. Plus other complaints on BBB and our hotel has them on the do not recommend list. If this isn't enough there are zero views of the red rocks and its is far out of town.

We had the BEST time! With very little riding experience across our whole group, the staff made us feel super comfortable and we were able to really enjoy ourselves! We also had a catered dinner waiting for us when we returned, and it felt like we were just part of the family! Photo op's, drink refills, live music...you name it and they provided! Can't wait to go back!
