I took two out of town friends as they wanted to golf somewhere other than my Club. The course was enjoyable to play, ultra dry on the fairways so the ball really rolled a long way. The greens were very fast but we adapted.
When we checked in we were told that we would be joined by a fourth, a man whose young son was riding with him. We were OK with this but a bit surprised when we found out that the boy had his own clubs. And he was five years old! The lad was not really mis-behaved, just a typical child of that age. He was allowed by his dad to hit some shots down the fairway and to drop a ball on each green to practice putting. He often did so in front of one of our balls and seemed oblivious to us when we were attempting our own putts. At one point I hit a decent shot about 10 feet from the pin but when I approached the green after getting out my putter, my ball had disappeared. The little boy had picked it up and put it in his pocket!
He only golfed the first nine because his Mom was picking him up. On the tenth tee I heard music playing pretty clearly and assumed it was coming from one the houses along the fairway. I kept hearing music and thought a lot of people were enjoying a nice day in their backyards, listening to their favourite tunes. I eventually clued in. Our fourth had turned on a portable Bluetooth player in his cart for the back nine. I got used to the music though it seemed a bit strange.
We are retired seniors, high handicappers and pretty laid back. So this did not really get under our skin and certainly did not spoil the round. I must admit, though, that I felt $90 (including tax and booking fees) was far too much for this "experience".
I told my regular golf partner about this and I said that a lot of people would have complained about having to golf with a five year old. He said, "well a lot of people would complain if they had to play with you." Got me!!

For most holes it is wide open so you can spray it around. If you get tired of the desert golf that makes you be straight off the tee then try Lone Tree when you are in the East Valley. The staff is good at getting you going, the practice / warm up areas are good.

There is enough water and sand to keep you honest but you can get away with an errant shot.

Lone Tree is a balanced course in a housing development with a few challenges but a basic design. It is surrounded by attractive, modest homes.

The Grille at Lone Tree in Chandler is your typical golf course grille but a new chef has escalated the dining. His specials are all well done and fit within a modest budget. Yes, you can still get brats, burgers and dogs but the lunches and dinner specials are just that, special!

The course is in nice shape, greens well-kept, but is a little pricy. Nestled in the middle of a housing community, many of the holes are lined with houses, so you can't hook/slice it too much or it will become someone else's property...but the houses tend to be higher than the fairways so if you are a little off, it will roll down to the fairway or closer to it. Many of the holes have rock beds lining the fairways, which give you extra roll while improving your lie. They prefer you book your tee time online, and that is where you find the better deals. You pay when you check in, and the course was packed both days I played it, so play was slow, but we joined another 2some and it went fine. There is a neat island par-3, and enough water on other holes to challenge you. Liked the course overall, but prefer to play in the afternoons for twilight rates. Price drops after 1p and again after 3pm.

I thought this course was fairly well priced for what you get. The service in the pro shop and the restaurant is excellent. The course is very forgiving with many "bowl" like fairways returning your ball to the middle.

The course is pretty well laid out and long in some spots. There are also some elevated greens and blind holes that dogleg out of direct sight. Overall I like the course and the challenge it represents but greens-fees have increased over the years making other options like bear creek more feasible. If you haven't yet played it its worth a round for the experience if you can find a good price, have an afternoon open or find a great deal on golfnow.com.

We just happen to come here for a round of golf in August this year and found this course was in pretty good shape. Fairways are tight, rough is great to hit out of and just in pretty good condition for the summer months. Ate at the restaurant after our round and found it very good with a great staff and good value.

Nice little golf Cafe to have breakfast on the patio with a beautiful view. Food is always good. There's also a bar if you want a bloody mary with breakfast.
