- Jessica R10 contributionsLovely stay with great service and foodWe had driven from Grand Canyon and were heading to Antelope Canyon the next morning, so this felt like a great place to stop for the night. The shop is lovely with some really beautiful things here, service was absolutely fantastic. We also had dinner, I can't recommend the Navajo taco enough, absolutely delicious and great service there too! The room itself is simple, but clean, tidy and feels very safe. The art and lamps are beautiful there too. View was gorgeous and wish we stayed here a second night.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 7, 2023
- Kimberly SGrimsby, Canada3 contributionsMom & Daughter Travel PartnersThe Trading Post offers spacious & clean rooms, wonderful local dishes and many rooms filled with Navaho art and treasures. The decor is a cultural delight. We stopped here for two nights and travelled to the South Rim Grand Canyon for a full day and then to Antelope Canyon the following day.Visited November 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 18, 2023
- Shaked007Hod Hasharon, Israel1,869 contributionsAmazing Store!! Beautiful Native American Crafts, Jewellery and Art!!Regretfully we didn't get to try out the rooms or the restaurant, even though we heard good things about them.....Maybe next visit when we have more time. However, we spent quite some time browsing the HUGE store, which offers a wide range of Native American jewellery, crafts and art at a nice spectrum of prices. We purchased some beautiful jewellery and some very pretty and delicately designed and decorated pottery. Cameron Trading Post is a cross between a museum and a store. The art in the gallery is some of the best we've seen. Cameron is definitely a MUST stop if you are in the area!!Visited August 2023Traveled with friendsWritten December 17, 2023

Don’t miss this place if you are in northern AZ. Great stop between Page and GCNP. The restaurant offers great service and the Navajo tacos are yummy! We loved meeting and chatting with Vivian and watching her weave. :)Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 20, 2024
- Kermit H3 contributionsOutstanding food and service and a great gift shop.My husband went from the Grand Canyon to Cameron on our way to Tucson as our second grandson's name is Cameron so we wanted to take a picture. Much to our surprise, we were amazed by the size of the restaurant/gift shop as well the rest of the area there. We ate breakfast that morning and it was wonderful. The wait staff was great and very much on top of everything. She even recommended the Avocado toast on Indian Fried Bread which was out of this world. My husband had an omelet which he said was awesome. We did spend some time going through the huge gift shop. We highly recommend making this a stop as that is what Cameron is all about!! 5 stars for them.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 3, 2024
- 1RaiderFanSchenectady, New York726 contributionsStop in when on 89 and enjoy. We stopped here as we didn’t want fast food on 89. Ordered the Navajo taco and enjoyed it. Service was good. Make sure you order the Sopapillas for dessert. Absolutely delicious. Didn’t shop in the gift shop but it was huge with a lot of offerings.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 7, 2024
- Kathy LDes Moines, Iowa381 contributionsTourist StopWe stayed at the hotel and enjoyed two meals at the store/restaurant. The food was very good, the Navaho stew only had a few pieces of meat and lots of potatoes.. The fry bread with honey was so good. Dinner was reasonably priced, breakfast cost a few dollars more than dinner. This is a popular stop for buses, so the dining room can be really busy and service can be slow. Servers are friendly. The shop is large and fun to wander.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 23, 2024
- ManiacsMom11 contributionsDon't miss the Gardens!I stayed for 2 nights with my family of 5 at the Cameron Trading Post. We were not with a bus or tour group, but many staying here, are. We had no issues on check in or checkout. I had read reviews on trip advisor with issues being seated for dinner with large groups coming in. We drove from the Desert View entrance of the Grand Canyon and I knew we need to eat dinner. As soon as we checked in I headed to dining room to see what situation was. The staff quickly reserved a table for me, and advised me to get my party back as soon we could, as they had 70 coming in shortly. They were attentive and we had no issues. Note there is no alcohol served here, or sold in the expansive shop. We had a rollaway bed and 2 queen beds. While we did all fit fine, I wouldn't do that again knowing my kids are only getting larger. We had a corner room with handicap shower, which was large. They have nice blue towels and when we needed extra towels, and they were brought quickly. The gardens are beautiful and depending on the location of your room, you can miss them. Its great spot for photos, and there are stone tables if you'd like to eat outside.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 29, 2024
- Have Camera, Will TravelSouth Bend, Indiana3,712 contributionsGood Place to Stretch Your LegsWe were on our way up to Horseshoe Canyon from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and needed a break. This was the perfect spot. We filled the gas tank and went inside. The gift shop is extensive. I got the usual magnet for the magnet board, a little hand made pottery piece, some snacks and drinks, a little hand carved Roadrunner, and a few other things. My partner bought a piece of jewelry and a few souvenirs. We also walked over to the bridge and took so pictures. There is a place to stay and a restaurant, but we weren't ready to eat a meal yet. If you are passing by on your road trip, this is pretty much a must stop.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 9, 2024
- patrick sColumbia, Kentucky5 contributionsDon’t miss this place on your way through. It is amazing! We stopped by here to explore the trading post and to eat breakfast. Our experience here was excellent. We had great food here to start our southwest vacation. We had two different types of omelettes and one biscuit and gravy meal in our group, all of which were excellent!. Portion sizes were large and expertly prepared. Service was a little slow, but pleasant and friendly. We witnessed the tables being cleaned as well as all the chairs top to bottom after every customer left. Atmosphere was amazing. Gift shop was also amazing. We will definitely be returning here on our next southwest vacation!.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 19, 2024

AMAZING place! As someone who loves exploring different cultures and seeing authentic craftsmanship, this was like striking gold! It is a very big trading post full of genuine artwork and items. I could have easily spent an entire day here just browsing through the tapestry. If you're ever in the area, you MUST drop by to see local culture!

When we asked Navajo guide at Antelope Canyon where to find authentic Navajo food, he dropped us a GPS location for a food truck, and Cameron Trading Post. There's not a lot choices around Page. The food was sold out when we got the food truck, and Navajo food was also sold out early at Big Lake Trading Post. Then we came here second day. We ordered Navajo tacos and Navajo Beef Stew. The fry bread comes with the taco, it is very fluffy; the stew was plain without much taste; btw, the amount is substantial, ready for sharing. The service was courteous and quick, the decorations are wonderful with strong Navajo style. There is a gift shop together with the restaurant.

We had dinner there last night and had the worsr servier I have ever come across ever. Marcia was rude, condescending and doenright disrespectful throughout the entire meal. She was angry right off the bat because our party didnt want to lump ourselves onto one single table & check, there by eliminating a slam dunk 18% tip for parties of 5 or more and she askesld us 3 separate times if our two separate tables were on one check as if the answer was going to change. She then messed up 3 out of the 4 meals at our table by bringing the wrong sides and in my case adding peppers to my Navajo taco when Inclearly stated to please leave them off, then when it came with peppers just shrugged and suggested that I pick them off. At the other table she brought my soon to be father in law fries instead of the coleslaw he ordered and when he ate the fries as to avoid getting in an argument for a replacement she charged him for both the coleslaw and fries, refusing to take off the double charge due to her mistake. When he asked to speak to a manager and said he would be paying her so she could resolve the mistakes Marcia blocked his path and said he would have to pay with her and refused him a manager. Finally our bill came and she announced the total aloud to the restaurant, something Ive never seen done in my life and aggressively asked my fiancée if there was a problem with the bill because she chose to read the entire bill to make sure there were no more mistakes. Finally we all as a party went to the front to speak with her manager as at this point Marcia was just light years away from professional or respectful and the server followed us and raised her voice in defense At everything we told the manager. I wouldnt eat here again if the food was free and this Marcia lady needs to be terminated immediately.

The wife and I toured AZ last year. The itinerary was set. After the Grand Canyon we set out for Page. (It certainly looked close on the map..NOT) Anyway we got hungry on the way there since we did not eat when we left. Googling advised that the Cameron Trading Post was directly en route. After miles and miles of pretty nothing this gem of a place was seen. Inside was immaculate with an abundance of all sorts of souvenirs real and imported. We really were too hungry to look but checked things out afterwards. Anyway I had the Navajo Taco...you can Google it for a picture. Absolutely amazing taste and size. The wife was cautious and only had a grilled chicken Quesadilla. We both had a bowl of fresh fruit as well which was a tad on the pricey side however certainly understandable if one realizes the location of the place. .Without a doubt you should visit

This was a stop on an organized tour I had scheduled. The facility was tidy and staff friendly. Like others posting reviews, we found more overpriced import ticky tack items than anything of interest or particularly authentic or eye catching. The restaurant was not open at the early trading hours we showed up so no comment of feedback about that aspect of this stop. Bathrooms were plentiful yet needed cleaning attention. Each person in our group made a small purchase as we were glad for the stop. From what I could see nobody got more than a snack or postcard.

In a guide book I read before our trip to the Grand Canyon, Cameron Trading Post was list as a "must see" if you head towards the east end of the canyon. We did the circle of south, then east, then north rims, so it was on our list. Wasn't as impressive as the book had led me to believe, but to be fair we had seen a lot of souvenir shops by this time (Williams had the coolest). It really is a large place, essentially in the middle of a desert. And they have it all. Groceries, souvenirs, Indian crafts....lots of Indian crafts, and a restaurant. One thing we realized during our 9 day trip, was that everything in Nevada and Arizona is ridiculously expensive. But I will say that their Indian crafts seemed a little more reasonably priced, as compared to the gift shops on the south rim, or those in Williams. Ultimately, if you're going to go to the east end of the canyon, or drive that way on your way to the north rim, it's definitely worth a stop. Especially since you not going to see much in any other direction for miles.

I’m so glad a friend recommended we stop at the Cameron Trading Post on our Grand Canyon trip.
Not only do they have a huge amount of authentic Indian crafts, but everyone was so friendly and they’re handling Covid precautions superbly. They also had a larger supply of children’s Grand Canyon shirts than the park did!

Warning for anyone with a food allergy - do not eat here!!! We ate here on our way to Grand Canyon. Our son has a severe egg allergy so we always ask if food has egg before we allow him to eat anywhere. We were told that his meal did not contain egg, and ordered it. We were pretty much ignored by our server and did not get refills, but that was the least of our issues. About 25 minutes after we left the restaurant our son started vomiting which he always does after he ingests egg. So, they lied. His meal absolutely contained egg and our son had a severe reaction after eating his meal there ruining what should have been a wonderful trip to the Grand Canyon.

The Navaho Taco at the Restaurant are incredible. Navaho fry bread with ground beef, beans, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream. It's a great lunch. The trading post is large and has reasonable prices on Indian souvenirs of all kinds. It's a great stop on the way to Page from Flagstaff. There is a motel there as well.

are there adequate R.V sites available & do we need reservations - price per nite??

Might be late with the answer but I do not believe you need a reservation and parking lot is huge definitely RV friendly. We visited over Spring break with no problems.

Hello!
I realise this is a 'how long is a piece of string' question BUT, please could you tell me about the pricing of your rugs? I am coming to Arizona for the first time and would love to budget for a hand woven piece but I have absolutely NO idea of the price range to expect....
Many thanks!
Written June 18, 2016
Navajo rugs, the good ones, are not inexpensive. As others here have noted smaller good quality rugs can easily be priced at $5,000. Another factor in price is popularity of the rug style. High thread count, well woven Two Grey Hills, Storm Patterns or Ganado Red style rugs come to mind. I have stopped at Cameron Trading Post many times and always eye their inventory in the rug sales area. They do have some good quality weavings, but also some fairly mid grade weavings. There is usually a weaving in progress on the loom where if you're lucky you might catch the weaver at work. The rugs I have seen on the loom have been of high quality and I believe they have sold for above $25,000. A good quality, larger size rug can easily take a year to complete and I think that clearly speaks to the cost factor.
There is much to consider when talking about Navajo weavings (rugs) and not nearly enough space here to address things properly. My suggestion is to get yourself a copy of the following two books and read them over before you get to Cameron.
Rugs and Posts by H.L. James. Shiffer Publishing
Navajo Rugs by Don Dedera. Northland Publishing, Flagstaff, Arizona
Should you have time to delve into things a bit deeper I would suggest the book: Navajo Weaving Three Centuries of Change by Kate Peck Kent. Published by the School of American Research Press, Santa Fe, New Mexico
Good luck and happy hunting.
