Singing Wind Bookstore is a interesting bookstore, two rooms filled with books, amazing thing is if you ask for a certain book, the owner Mrs. Bundy knows exactly where it is. It's packed in there like a maze. You can find books that might be hard to find. I took a group once and she accommodated us kindly. I mentioned what I was interested in, she found a book, told us a synoposis of it, let us bring in sack lunches, she provided cookies and lemonade for us. Very enjoyable afternoon. Off Ocotillo, onto a dirt road about a quarter mile. Worth a trip

We read about this place in a tour book and thought we'd check it out. I like the quaintness of it. There are two rooms full of books, but not a ton of organization to them. Unfortunately, the place is not exactly, oh, "fresh". There was a lot of dust. I couldn't find any good deals on used books. I hate to leave an independent book store without making any purchases, but nothing inspired me. (A basket on a shelf did, but that was not for sale.) The person who greeted us was nice enough, but couldn't help us with our questions. She was also very rude to the owner, who is an older woman. It looks like the owner may have some memory issues and that may be frustrating for a co-worker, but speaking to her so critically in front of others seemed unnecessary. It was certainly an experience to visit and we had a bit of time to kill so it worked with our schedule, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to visit it.

A cute and very unique bookstore on a ranch. Fun to visit, but wish they could have been able to provide more guidance on interesting books on regional topics.
