My wife and two daughters (19, and 21) visited the Anan Bear Observatory in July, 2020. Although the weather was rainy, I highly recommend this trip for anyone within the recommended age limit. It was an amazing experience. We saw both black and brown bears fishing for salmon

Fantastic jetboat ride up the Sikine River and into Shakes Lake where we stopped for a glass of wine and delicious snacks including smoked salmon. The guys pulled up to a floating iceberg and chipped some off to chill our wine - thrilling! We then proceeded up to Shakes

Wonderful trip. Well-organized and guided. The first hour was slow but then things really picked up. We had extended looks at easily 4-5 bears and brief looks at others. The bear blind was awesome- we got closeups of 3 bears that way.
