To my friends in the Travel Advisor community, I highly recommend Captain Jeff and his beautiful yacht, Sea Mist. The time on the yacht was part of a very intricately planned tour of Montana and Alaska. No details were left undone, including movie night popcorn, and my clients had a fantastic time on the yacht thanks to Capt. Jeff, Kate, and Dave.

This was part of a bucket list Alaska trip for my father-in-law and we are so thankful we ran across the Sea Mist!! Captain Jeff, First Mate Kate, and Chef Delicious Dave made this the trip of a lifetime for us.
From the moment we stepped foot on the boat on a gloriously sunny day in Whittier until we stepped off a few days later, we were treated to amazing views, food, and activities. Captain Jeff has been on Prince William Sound for many years and put together an excellent itinerary for the interests of our groups, from hiking to kayaking to glacier viewing, everything was perfect for us. Kate took care of anything that came to mind, usually before we even thought of it ourselves. Her attention to detail was unsurpassed! Chef Dave came up with some absolutely amazing meals for our random array of selective food interests across our age groups (My in-laws, wife and I, two older teens)..
Staterooms were top notch, our concerns about feeling claustrophobic were completely unfounded! This boat is spacious with plenty of room to spread out, in or out of your stateroom and there really is no reason be in your room other than sleeping anyway.
This is the way to 'cruise' in Alaska. Personal attention, amazing scenery, food, activities. It will be hard to find another trip that could come close to this.

I cannot put into words how completely satisfied we all were with our Sea Mist journey. Jeff was always full of stories, Kate was not only adorable but one of the most accomplished young persons I've ever met. And our chef was magnificent - what a chef! Everything we ate, every time we ate, it was always accompanied with all of us making “ yummy" sounds with every bite. We sounded like a heard of cows. We were fortunate on our first day to see Orca Whales, Humpback whales bubble net feeding and Dall Porpoises. Most importantly, the boat was filled with laughter and good times were had by all. Though there were plenty of board games and movies on board, who had time? We were all too busy visiting with one another, going for hikes, kayaking, or just watching the breathtaking scenery pass us by. It truly was a once in a lifetime trip. Which presents a whole new problem.... What will I ever do, where can I ever go that will equal this experience? The solution may involve a return trip to the Sea Mist.

We took a family trip (2 adults, 3 teens) on the SEA MIST in June of 2023 and had a wonderful and memorable time. The food was amazing. The staff was great. We were able to see some amazing things that we would not have been able to see on a large boat or by car, and were able to customize the trip to our interests/needs.

If you are reading this post because you are interested in going on a trip on the Sea Mist, do yourself a favor and book now! I have been on the Sea Mist for 3 different trips. Every time we have booked, I thought to myself, there is no way Captain Jeff can make this trip better than the last. Well, I was wrong. He manages to make each trip unique and amazing. Jeff is an incredible Captain but an even more amazing host. He knows how to take care of people. He put together an amazing team (Morgan and Chef Gillian) to make sure we had everything we needed. Chef Gillian created outstanding meals. The food was fantastic. Morgan made sure we had everything we needed from clean rooms to afternoon tea. The Crew really outdid themselves.
Prince William Sound is a magical place. We saw tons of wildlife (humpback whales, orcas, seals, sea lions, sea otters, dall porpoise, bears, ducks, tufted puffins and bald eagles). The scenery is spectacular (waterfalls, glaciers, mountains, sunsets). We enjoyed kayaking, fishing, and seeing the salmon hatchery.
Captain Jeff knows what customer service is! Truly an amazing trip!

I am doing so in hopes others can have a fantastic cruise and experience, like my wife and I did. I feel very fortunate that Chartered Luxury Yacht Cruising is an experience I have been able to enjoy quite often. Over my life, my family and I have had 8 such experiences encompassing a total of about 18 weeks.
The above was only to outline that I feel comparatively qualified to rate Alaskan Luxury Cruises, The Sea Mist Ship, and her crew!
From the moment the wonderful crew of 3 met my wife and me in the parking lot, whisked away our luggage, and properly settling it into our stateroom, and at every time all the way through the time we left the ship, we felt special.
We felt cared for.
We felt cared about.
I could not get close to guessing the number of whales, telling you the number of scores of bears, or the many unique birds, and the interesting geography (glaciers) we saw. There were just too many of all these. Therefore my review will focus on the more important things. The Ship and its people and the experience they give.
We felt heard, but almost always any need we might have had was anticipated in advance and serviced with a gracious tact and with a quiet demeanor.
For examples:
Matt: At about the time a mid-afternoon low energy lull was about to begin, there was Matt. "Oh, here are some fresh this or that, I just baked them. Help yourself if you want, they will be right here, or may I serve you some now?" To, "of course I would be happy to prepare that special evening meal for your special event". Matt's cooking was very enjoyable. If you are fortunate enough to get a booking on The Sea Mist, Alaska Luxury Cruises: plan to be either very disciplined or plan to add a kilo to your waistline. And also, if so inclined, ask Matt about some of his fascinating adventures.
Kate: Oh my goodness. I cannot say enough about Kate. The First Mate, and so much more. Kate's seamless enthusiasm, her undying energy, her appropriate friendliness, and her smile combine to make Kate an amazing person.
Talk about service. And I do not mean an overbearing, in your face, or superficial service. I mean true service. Gracious and seamless service. Kate manifests truly, and it will be so very obvious to any guest of hers, there is just not enough genuine "I CARE ABOUT YOU" service she can provide.
Her duties are discharged with aplomb, excellence, creativity, and extreme professionalism. Many crew work because they can see the world, and/or they have a fantastic life on the ship, Kate works to provide you the best trip possible while being the very best she can be.
Captain Jeff:
First of all - Jeff operates safely. His operation is one of quality, and he has a deep knowledge of the area, its history, and his beautiful Knight and Carver ship.
Perhaps foremost in this industry Jeff operates with the highest integrity I have ever experienced. With Jeff, there is total transparency. There are no hidden costs. There is no agenda. Jeff is as excellent of a communicator as he is a delegator.
Jeff has hired a truly outstanding crew. The can-do anything (really I mean that Jeff has an "I can do anything for you" attitude) runs throughout his crew. Jeff gets out of their way and fully empowers them to work their magic while he works his.
The Sea Mist:
If you are fortunate enough to get a booking on The Sea Mist; Alaska Luxury Cruises I ASSURE YOU - you will be truly pleased. If you are REALLY really fortunate and can swing it, book it as only a couple. This trio was among the most relaxing, and wonderful, and romantic things we have ever done.
Finally, Captain Jeff is one heck of a nice man. HE LOVES ALASKA. He and the crew will truly care about you. They will give you the absolute greatest cruise possible.
ENJOY (and if you want to hear more, ask the crew to give you my contact info

I learned more, saw more and got spoiled more than I could have possibly imagined. Genuinely a once in a lifetime experience. A grizzly bear swimming between island - humpback whales breaching all over the place - an Orca pod ... not to mention 11,000 foot snow capped peaks... all while eating like a KING! It was fantastic.

By far, this has been one of my favorite vacations. When planning our trip, I had no idea of the level of exceptional customer service we were going to receive. Captain Jeff, Kate and Chef Zach went OVER AND ABOVE WHAT WE EXPECTED. They did a wonderful job of making us feel at home. Five stars isn’t enough to give the crew of The Sea Mist. The food was excellent. Zach is such a talented chef. Kate took such good care of us. She was always one step ahead and always made sure we had everything we needed. Captain Jeff planned a great experience for us. He’s very knowledgeable of the area and made sure we got to do all the things we wanted to. The wildlife, glaciers and scenery were incredible. We had so much fun touring a fish hatchery, kayaking, hiking, fishing, watching movies and relaxing. We saw dall’s porpoise, humpback whales, sea otters, bears, bald eagles, seals, sea lions, waterfalls and tons of spawning salmon. Thanks to the crew of the Sea Mist for such a lifetime experience and we hope to go on another amazing trip with you soon.

Alaskan Luxury at its finest! This is the perfect way to experience the untouched beauty of Alaska while feeling like royalty on this unbelievably gorgeous yacht. We had the most incredible experience participating in shrimping, fishing, kayaking, glacier viewing, and visiting an oyster farm. We were constantly surrounded by breathtaking ocean, mountains, trees, glaciers, and waterfalls. The beauty of the Sea Mist perfectly complemented the beauty surrounding us. She’s a beautiful custom yacht full of wide open spaces that are unexpected for a boat. Every detail is immaculate. There wasn’t enough time to truly enjoy all the comfortable seating areas around the boat. While the Sea Mist could likely comfortably carry 20+ people, the small, private group made us feel like royalty. In addition, the smoothness of the ride aboard the Sea Mist is unparalleled. We never felt like we were out on the water. This would be the perfect trip for anyone who otherwise struggles with seasickness. All of these factors would be enough for me to return to the Sea Mist time and time again. However, on top of all this comfort and beauty, the Sea Mist boasts an incredibly hardworking crew. Captain Jeff was knowledgeable and eager to please. He went out of his way to ensure we had the perfect custom trip. Kate worked tirelessly the whole trip to provide us with levels of comfort and service we wouldn’t think possible. She was constantly thinking ahead and providing us with pieces of happiness we didn’t even know we needed. Deckhand-in-training Mason wasn’t afraid to get dirty in helping us with our fishing endeavors. For a young man, his eagerness to please was quite impressive. Overall, this was truly the adventure of a lifetime. I strongly recommend this to anyone who wants to see the best of what Alaska has to offer. I look forward to returning to the Sea Mist time and time again!

This was a trip of a lifetime in 2 days. My only regret is not listening to Captain Jeff and going for longer. First of all- This amazing Alaskan experience is only a 1.5-hour drive from Anchorage. Once through the Whittier tunnel- we were met at the dock and on the way to Blackstone Glacier within the hour. Private chef and Steward on board we're amazing! Tons of snacks, wine, honestly everything you could want and more. My friends and I felt like royalty and yet it was totally comfortable and unpretentious. The Yacht itself was so incredible comfortable- every detail thought through and it was just the perfect way to experience the awe of Alaska. From dining in front of Blackstone Glacier to hiking on a remote island and kayaking in total peace and tranquility- There's no way it could have been better. We also saw whales, sea otters, seals, and Bald Eagles. Did I mention every meal was cooked by a private chef and PERFECT. We're heading back for another trip before the season ends.
