It sounds cliche, but this was really the highlight of our 10 day trip to Alaska! Gabe is so friendly and knowledgeable and he was willing to customize our 8-hour tour along the way. He mentioned a remote island where oysters are harvested and we asked to go there. No prob! He not only took us there but he shucked oysters for us as we floated in the calm waters of Prince William Sound. We saw otters, seals, bald eagles, porpoises, and puffins but the most incredible part of the day was when Gabe brought us to Surprise Glacier where we watched in amazement as the glacier calved several times. I was a bit nervous as the first few minutes out of the harbor seemed rough (it wasn't), but the rest of the ride was smooth and the 8 hours flew by in Gabe's comfortable boat!

Will add our voice to the recommendations - had a great day out with Gabe looking at glaciers, wildlife, and doing some fishing. His boat is very comfortable (has a toilet, lol) and has a lot of seats inside - we got a lovely weather day, but I think it would have been cozy/warm even if it was raining or cool. Gabe has a lot of knowledge about the glaciers and the area, as well as fun stories. If you want something other than the large cruises to 20+ glaciers (or to not be around as many people during covid times), give Gabe a call. You won't regret it!

We would like to add the the awesome reviews for spending the day with Gabe on his incredible boat in the Prince William Sound!! We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 adult children) and we all absolutely LOVED the day. The weather did not even matter - even when it rained and temp dropped, the complete fun and adventure continued. We recommend this Alaska experience 100%! It will promise to be a very special, unforgettable experience - the fishing, wildlife, glaciers, history/knowledge that Gabe shares, cool features of the boat, the list goes on and on! We will absolutely call Gabe and sign up next time we are in the area!!!

He made no efffort to help with any luggage even though I had a baby and a toddler. He acted as though we were causing him problems even though our water taxi was over $300!!! Yuck, left a bad taste in our mouths for such a special trip. No thanks.

Let me begin by saying that we saw humpback whales bubble net feeding! We spent almost two hours observing them do it over and over. This can never be expected anytime or anywhere. This would have been a five-star tour anyway. Gabe’s boat is nice and clean and has a strong indoor compartment and a bathroom. It was great for touring the Prince William Sound. Also, Gabe is bright and personable.
Besides the humpback whales, we saw porpoises, kittiwake rookeries, sea lions, seals, sea otters and puffins on a gorgeous day in the sound. This tour was one of the best experiences my young children and I enjoyed in Alaska.

We had the pleasure of going out w/ Captain Gabe into the PWS a few weeks ago. It remains the highlight of our trip. Gabe was incredibly knowledgable about the area being an Alaskan resident and the changes he has seen over the years. He was patient w/ our kids and taught them how to catch rockfish all the while looking out for wildlife. The 8-hour trip zoomed by but it left us w/ lasting memories, so much so that the 8 year old wrote about this day 3-weeks later as his favorite Alaskan memory. If I had known about Gabe's company prior to our trip, I would have gone directly to him. At least we were fortunate enough to meet him through another outfitter and if we ever have the chance to get back to Alaska, we will contacting him directly! An amazing time. Many thanks for amazing memories.

Can’t recommend Gabriel and his awesome boat enough. We spent an incredible half day (6 hours) exploring all of Prince William Sound seeing wildlife, catching incredible salmon (that he filleted sashimi for us on the boat and then set up to have shipped back to us), explored glaciers, saw bears catching salmon as they jumped up a fresh water stream.
Was an incredible day.
Tip: If you book a full day (10 hours) you can request that he bring a hibachi and side dishes and he’ll make salmon for lunch or dinner right on the boat! On full days he’ll also stop by his buddies oyster farm to pick up some to grill.
He also does custom water skiing, kayaking and surfing trips to the outer islands ( best in September!)
Can’t wait to come back!

This is a must in our book. We will definitely do agin when back in Whittier. We caught a few King Salmon. Which we had the restaurant in Whittier cook when we got back in. Talk about fresh salmon. We saw whales, dolphins, about 100 seals, 200 otters and got up close to a couple glaciers. Babe is very knowledgeable and made our tour an A plus

Great tour with Captain Gabe. He listened and customized the trip for us. We saw a lot of wildlife and made great memories that will last a lifetime. We were a multi generational group and all had a wonderful time.

Took family out on boat with Gabe. Start to end it was excellent. We caught more fish than we could eat (and we are unskilled). We saw wales, otters, dolphins, eagles, glaciers, amongst others. Gave is clearly an expert in the area. Surprise glacier is one of the coolest places I’ve ever been. 100% Recommeded.
