Great diving with Bastien and Marc. The club is ideally located and infrastructure and equipment is great. I can't stress enough the need to go to the South pass where you'll experience the best dive ever. It is far but the 90 minutes are just 1,000 times worth it. Cherry on the cake it is followed by a nice lunch on the pink sands.

We enjoyed two dive days with Luick as our guide. Everything was smooth- they were in good online communication with us, picked us ip on time, were organized and ready for us at the shop. The dive sites were terrific and maybe a 20 minute boat ride away. Hot tea was served during the surface interval. They were part of our E Diving Pass, so having everything prepaid was convenient.

My partner and I dove with dive spirit during a recent trip to Fakarava. We did 3 days of diving the north pass and one day of diving the south pass. My partner is a beginner diver who recently completed his open water certification. Marc, our divemaster was extremely helpful in making sure the experience was safe and enjoyable-we did reef dives on the first day to get acclimatized, then dove in the current. they were very careful with our gear and all the staff were excellent.

Terrible crew and worst owner. They kept our money after cancelling 4 dives (2 for personal reasons and 2 more because there was a diving accident). One girl had a problem with the equipment and had to do an emergency ascend when we were at 29 meters, the guide did nothing until 3 minutes later. She did not die thanks to her buddy that emerged to the surface. They were forcing divers to enter in Deco time for almost 10 minutes and not doing the safety stop that our dive computers were recommending (they said our dive computers were too conservative... but the reason is that there was not enough air for 40 min diving and Deco safety stop). There are two other companies much better to dive with, for your safety do not dive with them.

We scheduled a trip to the south pass with Dive Spirit 2 weeks before arrival.
We were told we were the only 2 signed up so far and if they got 2 more divers we would go. We met other divers in Rangoria that said they had just signed up for the same trip to the south the same day as us. We then received an email from Dive Spirit the day before we arrived that cancelled our trip. We called the shop to find out why and we were told they had too many divers, so they cancelled us last minute so they could take a larger group. After planning a diving vacation to Fakarava for a year we were left trying to find a boat. Reservations with Dive Spirit are worthless.

We had a wonderful time diving with the north pass with Dive Spirit. Marc, Jerome and Irene did their best to accommodate our English and provide very good service, both above and under the water.
The communication before hand was good and they thoroughly checked our dive credentials when we arrived. Fakarava is a challenging location to dive. Our experiences here were life changing.

Four days of diving in Fakarava, 3 north pass and one day trip to the south pass. Bastien is the BEST :) Super professional, good quality gear and boat. I was the only English-speaker most days, but wasn’t an issue. Highly recommend!

I contacted Ariane at Dive Spirit after seeing the photos and reviews (particularly the one by "kim S") here on TripAdvisor, and was very glad I chose them! I was on the Paul Gauguin cruise ship, and they met us on the dock with the Dive Spirit boat promptly as arranged over email. The boat is new, the equipment is new, and the wetsuits were new and all in great condition . I hate diving in old or not-looked after gear, and this stuff was top notch Scuba Pro gear (I did dive with another company on Moorea and the wetsuit had holes in the armpits-- it was very well used so made me nervous about the rest of the gear). Ariane and Matias were very professional, and provided excellent pre-dive briefing, etc. One of our group hadn't dived in a few years, and they made sure he was comfortable, remembered everything, etc. Very safety conscious and good for a nervous diver to the more advanced divers in our group. Matias was our divemaster for the actual dive, and he had a board he took down with him, writing the name of the fish, sharks, and coral we saw. WOW, FAKARAVA IS AMAZING. The coral is so healthy and stunning. It was just excellent, and we were down for such a long time too :). Everything was just like we had hoped for, and was one of the highlights of the ENTIRE trip to french polynesia. After our dive, we were all on such a high. Ariane and Mattias even took us back to their new dive shop HQ (we had time before our ship left and we wanted to get a dive t-shirt) and it was really nice to get a bit of an island tour too as a bonus. It was a really great day and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Also, some of our group wanted to snorkel as they weren't certified, and while we dove, they had their own snorkel guide who they snorkelled with. They said she had a book of the fish to point out the names, and they all raved about their snorkel experience, so i can recommend Dive Spirit for both Snorkel and Diving.

We chose Dive Spirit because it is part of the Te Moana Pass. We were diving with them for 2 days, each day a two tank dive. The diving club is set in a beautiful location on Fakarava. The staff is very helpful and professional. We enjoyed on our dives even though it was raining sometimes and the sea was harsh a bit. I had a problem equalizing because I was a bit sick, and they helped me to go through the dives.
However there are some things I would like to note:
1. We really wanted to do the drift dives in Fakarava and to dive in the Southern pass. When we booked the dives through email before our arrival we just picked random times (morning/afternoon) and days during our stay on the island. It was our mistake - we did not know that the diving clubs do know months in advance what would be the favorable time for drift dive (incoming current) on each day. And they did not inform us about the fact that at the chosen time/date we won't be able to do the drift dive. Again, this is mostly our fault, but we would have appreciated if they would have informed us, as we stated during out correspondence that we want to do the drift dives in the pass.
About the Southern Pass we were told when we booked it would be impossible to go there on the dates we will be on the island (we spent 4 days there). However, when we arrive to the island, there were a few diving clubs (based in the north) that went to the pass. We were a bit frustrated, as this is the kind of places you reach once in a lifetime, and the southern pass should be one of the most amazing places to dive, and we might have been able to dive there if we went with another diving club.
2. All of our 4 dives (spread over the 2 days) were at the same spot, and again not in the pass. Additionally, during the dives the guide would swim very slow, so we did not see a lot of the reef during the dives. When I swam past the guide, I was told to slow. This might be not such an issue, but as I said all the dives were basically in the same place, covering not much distance, and we felt that we did not get the most out of diving in Fakarava and felt a bit disappointed.
Our recommendation is if you go diving there and want to dive in the passes - check with the diving center when would be the incoming current so you will be able to do the pass dive.

My first snorkeling ever. Matias from DIVE SPIRIT introduce me to snorkeling with first scuba dive baptism. I just loved it, went in the next 5 days to passe level diving open water with instructor. I am 64 years old, if i can so you can. I must say its because of is teaching method , very strict we the rules, safety first, respect of the environment. With him you feel in total security in this new under water world.
He will not let you go to the next step until you are completely able to achieve the required exercise with ease and self control. I take the opportunity to say thanks Matias GOD bless you.

Hello! We will be arriving on the cruise ship Marina on February 19 2019 and we were wondering if you had any snorkeling trips available for 2 people that day?

Hi!
I'll hopefully be visiting Fakarava in September for a week, and would like to take a diving course. I would like to know what my options are, given I have no diving experience.
Thanks!

Hi,
I am a NAUI certified diver but have not been diving for 10 years. Can you suggest a dive experience that would be appropriate for me?
Thanks,
Bill

Hello Bill.
If you haven't dive for 10 years, you should do at least 1 or 2 refresh dives in the lagoon in front of the dive shop.
And then, if you are ready, you could dive in the ocean.
Which date and which accomodation?

Hola Marta. Espero tu email entonces.
Un saludo,
