I did 10 dives @ Kaina Plongée - Fakarava Diving Center in January 2020, in North pass as well as South Pass. It was an crazy - fantastic - amazing experience. I have been diving all over the world but these 2 passes are really different, especially to meet grey sharks walls. I did almost all my dives with Vincent, who is really skillful, kind, and interesting (he knows everything on the island) ! I will definitely recommand Kaina Plongée, especially for experienced divers.

If you are not french, you will be totally ignored. Extremely unfriendly instructor Loic, owner Vincent close-lipped. No check of divelog and certification at all. No information about procedures and safety when you first arrive. No information if prebooked dives cannot be made. If you don't confirm, you will just stand in front of closed doors. One star for the nice local captain, who felt sorry for us. What a negative diving experience - fortunately the only one in whole French Polynesia.

Took several scuba diving excursions in Fakarava. The mater diver was friendly and informative. We had several diver that were not experienced as some and the dive mater took time to work with them. The dive center offer Nitrox at no extra cost.

I have been here in North Fakarava for 3 weeks now. We are on our own sail boat. I have done 3 dives thus far but I wanted to do plenty more including the South Pass trip. The first 2 dives were great (3rd was so - so.) If you do not speak French, you are pretty much on your own for the dive. I got a briefing and the DM's were fine but otherwise, I almost felt like an outcast in the boat. Many divers were actually from Tahiti on short visits. That did not concern me but I know it did for others. I had to call, text and keeping bugging them to book me to go. As it stood, I was turned away too many times and also ignored. I repeatedly asked to be booked on the "next" South Pass dive even though it is pretty expensive vs. me taking my own boat there. From watching the dive boats come and go it appears that Fakarava Diving Center is the busiest so perhaps so busy they don't need to look for business? So, I am still here but am planning on booking 6 more dives with ENATA at the South end. Word from other sailors is that they are great.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience diving with Kiana Plongee in September. Vincent and Fanny did a great job guiding us. The Regulators, BCD, fins and maks were either new or were very well maintained. We did one reef dive and one drift dive. Dives exceeded expectations. We saw tons of tropical fish, many reef sharks and two manta rays. We are looking into how we can get back there and dive again with them next year.
