I first saw Matia Beach in a photograph. It was the deciding factor that had me include Bora Bora in my travel plans. Matia Beach proved to be even more stunning than that photograph. My husband and I walked the entire length of Matia beach- from the southern end, near the front entrance of the Intercontinental Hotel to the now... More

lots of coral in water so wear reef shoes. convenient outdoor showers to rinse off in park near bathrooms. There were local boys hanging out but they were friendly enough. we treated them with the respect they treated us but kept the conversation short. Nice break to our island tour.

The Matira Beach jetski tour is one of the best tours on the island! They take you on great new jetskis around the entire mainland and it's an incredibly awesome experience. The guide will stop midway on a motu to open up some coconuts and fruit. Highly recommended.

Coming from Australia there is rarely a beach that impresses but Matira was one that did. Overall a loverly clean beach with crystal clear water. I believe it is the only public beach on Bora Bora.

Clear blue waters, powder soft sand. What else can I say, this is Matira beach, one of the best in the world! Gorgeous sunsets, great for snorkeling!

We visited the beach several times on bicycle for a swim, to fly the drone for aerial pictures and to have lunch in one of the waterfront restaurants

We walked around to Matira point one morning from our hotel (Sofitel); the beach has a wonderful vista out to the edge of the lagoon and into the ocean, and it's worth a look if you have the inclination.

a lovely beach - one end busier than the other but crystal clear water - pretty average cafes so take your bread cheese and drinks from the little shop at Matira

Breathtaking. Go there and enjoy the crystal clear water and sunset. It is steps across from the entrance to Intercontinental Le Moana.
