About Mahay's Jet Boat Adventures
Mahay's Jet Boat Adventures is a family owned business that has been in operation for over 40 years. We are located about 2 hours north of Anchorage, just 14 miles off the Parks Highway, on your way north to Denali National Park or Fairbanks. There are 4 different tours that you can choose from, with varying lengths and adventure, each offering something different. All trips include our 1/4 mile nature walk where a Naturalist will talk with you about the early settlers in the area (the Dena'ina Indians and trappers)and show how basically and rustically they lived with the authentic replications of their dwellings. Our premier trip is the Devil's Canyon Tour where you will be able to experience Class V whitewater in the 44' jet boat, all while staying safe, dry and comfortable. There is also the Chulitna Gorge Journey, this trip heads up a braided river which offers a unique and picturesque experience. Alaska is one of 4 areas in the world that has an extensive braided river system.

We did the river, rail, and trail tour. We loved every minute! We drove through Alaska so it was fun to be on the train. The kiddos were ages 12 through 7. They had so much fun on the jet boat ride. I enjoyed staying inside rather than out on the deck so I could hear the guides. Our guides, Lily and Jake, were exceptional! They were knowledgeable and personable. What a great way to learn about Alaska. Would recommend to anyone.

We did the jet boat "Wilderness Excursion." Israel was our captain and was happy and excited to share this river where he grew up. The tour was exciting, beautiful views, and informative. The trapper village/nature walk was really something to see and learn about. The shuttle driver went out of her way to take us to launch (after we had said we would drive-don't: the road is VERY rough). One of our favorite excursions while in Alaksa. Do not hesitate to book!

We sure enjoyed our jet boat tour with Mahays'. They were great about informing us where to find them as we arrived in a rental car. The boat driver kept us entertained with both historical and humorous information. We stopped to visit their trapper village sites which I found very interesting. Lastly, we had a great view of Denali from the river with just a few clouds.

We are so glad you enjoyed the Wilderness Excursion. Our staff work really hard to entertain and inform our guests and they really appreciate it when they succeed. We are blessed in having what I feel is the best view of Denali that there is in the state (when she is visible). Thank you so much for taking the time to let others knowhow much you enjoyed your trip. Come see us again and take one of our other trips--we'd love to have you back.

A not-to-be missed tour. 5 and a half hours of fun and spectacular sights to include on our tour an unobstructed view of Denali. Eli and Lilly were outstanding.

Was here Memorial Day weekend. They canceled the Devil's Canyon trip the night before. Was super disappointed. Said it was a mechanical issue- that they couldn't get the park they needed. But one of the boat captain's told me that they had two boats capable for the trip- one with the mechanical problem and one they lacked some coast guard type certification. begs the question why they didn't pull the needed part from the noncertified boat.

We am truly sorry that you weren't able to experience our Devil's Canyon Tour. As you mentioned, there was a mechanical issue and unfortunately many of our boats have different engines and power systems. In this case, yes, there are 2 boats that are capable of doing that trip, but one is gasoline and one is diesel and the parts aren't interchangeable. We even tried various other tourism companies in town (the advantage of a small town-- we all work well together and help in time of need) to see if they had a part we could use, but no luck for us or our guests; and with it being a holiday weekend we weren't able to acquire the part from our usual supply store. You can rest assured, that we wanted this trip to run as much as our guests (and tried everything we cold think of)--we want our guests to experience a trip with us. Again, we are sorry and we do hope that if you are ever in Alaska again, that you give us a try again--we'd love to have you aboard
