Kolonia is the biggest of the FSM towns. As pointed out by others this is not a tourist destination but a place where people live and shop. The local supermarket has a better selection of products than other locations in the FSM. The vegetation is...More

Kolonia is an easy town centre to wander around. There are a number of historic sites to see (Spanish Wall etc) and a few shops and cafe's to have a look and eat at.

Kolonia, Pohnpei is probably not on every traveller's map, but those world travellers who want to explore Micronesia should pick this island. It's lush green vegetation and multiple bays and islands give it a wonderful image. There are multiple accommodations where you can choose from....More

As a first time visitor, it was to say the least an amazing time in Pohnpei. Although small, i rented a car and travelled around the whole island. So much to see and do on this island. Cute resturants, bars and sights. Kepirohi falls are...More

Kolonia is a strange kind of town. There are roads and shops, but not much more. The tourism office is located here, which is a very good place to visit for help and tips for what to do, but the town isn't really a tourist...More

Not a tourist attraction by any stretch of the imagination -- just a serviceable small town (I do mean small) with a few decently stocked supermarkets, a barber, hairstylist, post office, etc. It has no bars, night life, etc -- it is not that kind...More

It is a while since we were there, but certainly enjoyed our 10 days there with our son who was there on a volunteers abroad placement. The pace is slow, but found the shops interesting, the locals friendly and food great. Yes it does rain...More

Needed a haircut and saw a sign that said "Barber". Don't see barbers much anymore. Usually salons and stylists. Decided to stop in. There was a chair open and they invited me right in. The young man cutting my hair was friendly and professional. He...More
