Go there right from the beach. When high season the beach is packed and so is this place, so if you are to get a selfie, get in line!

Great place for taking pictures. Close to it there is an area on the beach with no waves and shallow water. Great place for kids. I suggest that the readers do not stay here at night with cameras or cell phones.

The beaches of Cabo Frio are much different and nicer than the beaches of Rio with white, squeaky sand. The small fort overlooks the bay and offers great views. Lovely.

Nice destination after a walk on a beach. It is inicely positioned so you can see all the Cabo Frio beach from that location.

Old replica-not replica...If you have issues climbing it may prove a challenge. there are no stairs, one must ascend the rocks to to fort. Once inside, there are a few cannon and not much else. Great views though. Fish on the bay side...

I had been to Cabo Frio before and did not have a good impression. All the fishing boats tucked away behind the fort and the nice beach changed my opinion, What a cute town! If there was a fee it was minimal. can't remember!

I liked this little fort on the rock outcrop, but it could really do with some upkeep. It could be a really great museum. Currently it's a little run down. The views of the the surrounding area are pretty good from the fort.

A reminder of days gone by, the fort is situated high on a rocky hill overlooking the bay in Cabo Frio. If you have trouble climbing on rocks, it is not for you. The fort is not easily accessed by older visitors or those having trouble climbing. For the inquisitive there are war canons to see and at times there are folk art on display for sale. Entry is free but be reminded the real reason to visit the fort is the view of the bay. Food and drink are available at the beach concessions.

Very small piece of history with outstanding vistas! Located on a rocky outcropping the fort provides views of Praia do Forte, Dunas as well as Cabo Frio and Arraial do Cabo. Beach goes all the way around the bay to Dunas. Close to the fort, the beach is not great to swim as there is loads of algae at times.

We spent 12 Fantastic Days!!!
It is the 3rd time we have gone but this was the best, the shops have grown a lot, a lot of entertainment at night, a lot of rest, beaches... Da Forno (pink sand and impeccable beach, small)
Geriba...Giant, warm water, Extensive beach, you have to know that they charge you 70 reais per day, umbrellas and table, or you eat food and they give you the service for free.
I rented a car (Locate)
I highly recommend it to you
To Walk.... IN Buzios (for excursion bookings)
If you rent a car it is the best because you go to beaches with few people like Dos caravelas (private)
Manguiños, or go to Cabo Frio, water and white sand.
Don't go to Joa Fernández🙃It almost has no shore and dirt abounds, it is very dirty and the smell of urinating cannot be tolerated, Visit the viewpoints but not the beach 🫣 The dresses and mayas on the beaches, check what is worn before Go, and if you are Argentine, take a thousand dresses from here, don't buy if you want to save. They cost 200 reais and more.
There are many modern inns, going to Rasa is ideal. If you stay in the center... patience, honest people and fast food everywhere.
