Took a trip with captain Ali and his son yesterday who created an amazing day. Good food, relaxing atmosphere and great company. Ali was flexible throughout the day which contributed to the feel good factor and used local knowledge to stop at the best spots for crabbing, food and swimming.

Friends we met at the Kilim have been booking day trips with Captain Ali on the Sultan of Dalyan for many years and kindly invited us to join them. We had a lovely day on the lake, swimming and eating the beautiful food - much of which was prepared by Captain Ali's son. At stop at the mud baths and... More

We went on a full day boat tour which included trip out to sea where we could hop out and swim- beautiful clear water. Then went crabbing near Iztutu Beach, where it was easy to catch crabs, and we could get out on the beach too. Lunch was amazing- delicious salads, roast veg, bread, blue crabs, kofte, chicken- and more... More

We had a great day with Ali - our first time there, we can't compare. But we would go to Ali again, no need at all to change the captain/ cook/ entertainer!! Thank you, Ali!

We have been in Dalyan in june and september. Did several boattrips there. Whenever possible we go with the Sultan of Dalyan, one of the more comfy boats there. Captain Ali and his son Ege will make your day. Swimming in the sea, crabfishing, perfect bbq with eggplant salad, green salad, pasta, kofte, chicken and if you ask for it... More

If you are considering a river trip in Dalyan look no further than Captain Ali's boat the sultan of Dalyan. Very comfortable with brightly coloured huge cushions to lounge on, nothing is too much bother and were introduced to crabbing which we hugely enjoyed. Swimming off the boat in warm volcanic waters was a great experience. Could not rate captain... More

I was searching for a Dalyan trip for a while, I then found Sultan of Dalyan, read all the other reviews and after the trip I was not disappointed. It was all I hoped for and more. Cheers Ali :) P.s. - I found the best way to contact Ali is on Facebook.

My husband and I came out to Turkey to celebrate our wedding - our best man booked this boat trip with Ali as a present (and surprise). I was instantly impressed with the boat itself - it's much more unique than the ones I've seen doing the Dalyan river tour. Ali was a great host, and we were able to... More

We have been on at least 4 trips on the Sultan of Dalyan over the years with Ali, and if we were lucky with his lovely wife Dilek too. He always makes the trip really special, and tailors it for whoever we are taking with us... A beautiful quiet trip up to the lake for birdwatching and gentle swimming with... More
