Teo Distillery was on our list of must do’s when we visited Sighisoara and it did not disappoint. We went early when they opened and the owner was amazing to talk with. We did the 5 tastings in the most awesome “cellar” The atmosphere was amazing and the Palinka was excellent. Don’t miss this if you go to Sighisoara!

I can’t say enough good things about Mr. Teo and his cellar. From the moment we stepped into his charming cellar, we were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm. Mr. Teo was a brilliant host and his enthusiasm and passion for the subject was clearly evident. Every aspect of this experience was great including the service, the stories and the type of drinks that we tasted: wine, beer and spirits. From my point of view it’s not all about the drinks, it’s about the stories and the emotional rollercoaster you can experience there. I highly recommend to visit Pivnita lui Teo - Teo’s Cellar if you are in the area of Sighisoara!

we had a really nice time here. in the winter it’s quiet, but in summer time a lot of people come here. we tried and liked the demi-sweet rose and sweet white wine. the beer was also very good. we really recommend the lichior fructe de padure, it tastes amazing, especially if you like a sweet taste. the owner is a very kind and talkative man!

Teo (the owner) was amazing. He runs his own business and knows the history of the entire place. Enthusiastic about everything and welcomed our international crowd (USA, Norway, and Dutch) with open arms. Make sure to ask to try the Palinca! He brews it himself and has won many awards for it globally! Highly recommend stopping by here at least for a drink if not for a stay!

Excellent tasting in 500year old family cellar. We tried shots of plum brandy, pear brandy and forest fruits liqueur. These are all made with old family recipes with local fruits. The brandy is touted to have medicinal properties. Cheers!

An amazing experience with Teo. He's an entertaining man full of information about brandy and more. He knows the subject back to front and gives plenty of samples so you really get to know his products and appreciate the work he puts into a business that he's very passionate about.

Amazing 5 star experience today! I am here in Romania doing some of my photography and stopped in for a visit. I tried the wine, brandy, and beer. Everything was 5 star. I can't wait to get back again and stay at the hotel as well. The host is incredible and produces spirits in a long line of tradition and excellence. Wish I had more time to sample additional products before finishing time here and heading back to the States.

Based on other reviews, my husband and I wanted to try the beer and palinca in Teo’s Cellar and we were lucky enough to do just that. We asked for beers and they came in delightful medieval steins. The beer was refreshing and the cellar added to the experience. Teo and his helpful assistant (we didn’t catch her name, but she was wonderful!) chatted with us and were so welcoming and kind. There was also medieval music playing in the background, which added to this delightful experience. We then tried some palinca and liquour and talked with Teo about its medicinal properties. Teo is an absolute joy to talk to (he speaks many languages) as is his assistant. Their hotel is a beautiful oasis and their cellar a MUST-SEE in Sighisoara!

Truly the definition of a hidden gem, I'm surprised the place wasn't packed solid! The cellar was a wonderful respite from the summer heat. We had the flight of brandy and every one was incredible (the plum brandy and cognac were my favorite). We also had a flight of wine the next day, and Teo told us facts about each one. The host made us really feel at home; never felt so relaxed, Teo is an excellent host, and stayed to chat with us when we were the only patrons. The flight of 5 brandies was 80 RON and is the thing I recommend most.

We are staying in Teo’s pension so had already had a complimentary taster of his award winning palincka. We went in again to a warm welcome, enjoyed the taster platter of spirits and bought a beautiful bottle to take home. Certainly a different experience - would recommend.
