We took 28 seat limousine bus to Sapa and it was most comfortable bus we rode during entire month trip in Vietnam. Very spacious, comfortable seats, lots of leg room. Nice English speaking tour guide Aurora.

We took the morning bus from Hanoi at 7am and returned from Sapa 4 days later on the 3pm. The bus is very clean and comfortable, proper seats which recline and lots of leg room. The staff were very helpful. They helped accommodate us changing plans at the last minute when we thought we might not make the bus. Certainly the easiest way to get to and from Sapa

We recently used Sapa Express from Hanoi to Sapa and found the experience great. We ended up not in a bus, but a minivan (limousine) which was very comfortable, our driver was great!
The journey included 2 bathroom/snack stops and we also were each given a bottle of water and a bread roll. We got to Sapa about 50 mins earlier than the estimated time and we were each dropped at our hotels. Fab experience and highly recommend.

I'm currently on the first day of this tour. I was hesitant about booking an $85 tour given how affordable Vietnam is but I decided to gamble.
The morning transport went fine. After that I would have to say I've lost on this gamble.
The operator managing the bus ride didn't know I was apart of her tour. Forgivable of course but it set off alarms, and rightly so.
I check into the Sapa Express Hotel and I'm neither impressed or discouraged at this point.
I'm immediately hurried off to lunch, which was subpar. Set menu with decent portions but low quality even for my standards and I love cafeteria food.
My guide was a young woman named Lee. Her English seemed good and she seemed inclined to talk. I happened to be the only one on the tour so I felt optimistic things would improve upon lunch.
The walk was foggy and after some small talk we settled into a quiet pace towards Cat Cat. I was expecting some local history or culture from my guide but there was none.
No insight on the area or the people. I was told to take 5 mins at the first vantage point lookout. 10 at the second and 15 at Cat Cat Village.
Being some one that doesn't take tours because I don't see the point in paying someone to do something I can do myself, which usually means navigate and lookup info on an area, I was even further disappointed seeing so many people clearly able to read a map to find this easily accessible place.
My guide did nothing to add to this tour other than walk in front of me. I didn't feel I could immerse myself and I know I certainly wouldn't have paid more than $20 for everything I received today.
It's really my own fault though. I shouldn't have been lazy while planning this visit to Sapa. All I needed to do was spend a half hour pricing the cost of transportation and looked up the sights myself.
After the end of my 'tour' to Cat Cat I asked the person at the front desk about getting a partial refund for the next days tour and just keeping my return transfer.
The nice lady asked someone in the back who yelled back at her essentially 'No!'
I wasn't satisfied with this so I asked to call someone which I believe she did and she came back with an answer that I could cancel the next day and they would refund me $10 off the $85 I spent, $32 of which was for round trip transportation.
So 2 meals, one night in a 2 star hotel, and a half a day tour amount to $10 according to Sapa Express. That sounds right to me, so why am I being charged $50?
I just want others to know that you do not need a tour guide for this visit, especially not Sapa Express. Their staff are nonchalant at best and apathetic at worst. Save yourself the money and do a little homework. At the least, they have reasonable transportation rates.

Hi Thomas.
Thank you for your comment here.
But let me explain to you something you have wrong think.
Firstly this time is Corona Virus, not have much customer can enter to Sapa, it reason why the tour do not have more customer but we also setup to you like the private tour with group tour price.
Secondly you said expensive tour with half day, let me count for you. Your trip we sale 115 USD but in the low season you bought supper discount with 85 USD only include: Rountrip bus ticket = 32 USD + 2 meal = 14 USD + one night Deluxe room 2 star hotel 18 USD + Entrance fee 5 USD + tour guide 15 USD = 84 USD total ( you just paid 85 USD ONLY but for 2 DAYS - remember 2 days not the Half day ). so how to refund when we offer to you 10 USD refunded. How you can buy all of that with 10 USD? So it Worth or not Worth with it.
Travelling in Vietnam always cheaper than other country but it not meaning few dollas can buy many things.
I am not happy with you when i already support the good value but get the not nice comment.
Regards.

The positives were the reception staff were friendly and polite, the bus was clean and smooth.
Not so positive is the bus no longer stops in Sapa town centre, now dumping travelers off in a muddy car park 2k away. The co-driver was only interested in a hard sell of tickets for Finsipan and there was no sign of the pillows and blankets stated on the ticket.
Lots of bus's running to Sapa these days so a large variety of choice.

We traveled with Sapa Express on our way back from Sapa to Hanoi and we were very impressed. Seating was comfortable, but what we loved most was how friendly and helpful the staff was. Daniel was very kind to our children and particularly understanding and helpful when our fidgety 1 year old moved around on the bus. We traveled with a family of 6 (4 children ages 13 to 1). We did a different service to Sapa, and much preferred this one. They will also drop you off at your hotel in Hanoi, which was extremely convenient.

We took the premium 24 cabin night bus from Hanoi to Sapa.
Comfortable and an easy journey. The seats recline into a bed. Not great if you are over 6ft tall, but you have your own cabin with wifi, blinds and privacy. Staff were very helpful both in Hanoi and Sapa. Would definitely recommend

We used Sapa Express from Hanoi to Sapa return.
Very smooth, good driver, 2 breaks. very pleasant journeys.
At Sapa, only 15 minutes before the boarding time, I realized that I left my mobile phone at hotel then the lady at office called the hotel and organized to deliver the phone to me. So I could catch the flight back home.
Thank you, Sapa express😊

We trekked from Sapa Town for 7 km through a forested path. It was muddy Dou to rain in previous night. After some steep climb, we came down to a valley with terrace cultivation. The landscape was awesome. Reached Lao Chai village, home of Black H'Mong people. Liked their traditional dress and their friendly attitude. The place was nicely decorated with flowering plants and handicrafts.

We had issues with another bus service from Hanoi to Sapa. But Sapa Express from Sapa to Hanoi was nothing but good service. Their website was in English and booking was really easy. They promptly provided answers and booking confirmation. Location of the bus pick up was at the Sapa Hotel and it went smoothly. Would definitely travel with them again.

How is the road to SaPa? Lots of twists and turns?
No trains are running now so my only option is a bus.. But motion sickness is a concern. Comments please.
Written September 3, 2020
Hi Friend.
Road to Sapa is good enough. Our bus everyday transfer customer directly to Sapa center. If you go by Train just stop in Lao Cai and still transfer by minivan to Sapa around 45km.
Big bus more comfortable.
Regards.

Hi Friend. We don't have bus from Sapa to Ha Long. At the moment as i know don't have tourist bus company directly from Sapa to Ha Long. You should come back Ha Noi and take the bus to Ha Long. If not, you can try some Local bus company in Sapa bus station.

They mention a 30% surcharge on holidays, does anyone know what this refers to and whether it applies to all bookings, or will I just pay the price quoted on the website?
Thanks
Written June 18, 2019
Thank you for your answer.
We already setup the calender for surchage Holiday in Viet Nam to our Systerm. So when you do the booking online from our homepage, if you choose on that day, the systerm will show the price add 30% right the time you choose the date.

Hi, how are in advance do I need to purchase the tickets for the bus and where can I purchase them please?
Written August 31, 2018
Hi
I purchased my tickets on line Sapa Bus Company before I arrived in Vietnam and it was low season and available so depending when you are travelling you may have book ahead there are two types of buses an ordinary bus seat or a part lie down bed, which I thought was fantastic👌 One tip you can’t book a seat, so my suggestion is to catch the bus from departure terminal so you can grab a seat of your choice, we where on a shuttle hotel pick up bus so when we arrived to take the Big bus we couldn’t sit together and one of us had to take a tight back section. Good luck 😉

What's the most trouble-free way to book a ticket? Through the sapa express website or an agency? cheers!
Written April 2, 2018
Through their official website. They will send the confirmation immediately to your email. If you want to request for any changes, just contact through email as they are very responsive. :)

Confused....
Which one is more comfortable? 28 seats or 38 beds? I like the time returning from sapa at 1:30pm and arrived at Hanoi at 7pm. But the bus with the beds seemed squishy.
Written March 11, 2018
Hi we travelled in the day time and use the coach which is not a double decker. Ours was single deck and the seats recline a long way to almost lying flat. Although during the day we sat more upright in order to take in the view. There is a lot of leg room.
Sounds like single decker may suit you better especially if travelling in a two as you can sit next to each other on the single decker.
At the two rest stops en route I had a look at the double decker ones and the aisle between the three rows of double decker seats was tight but also looked like on the upper deck all had to lie nearly flat, the lower level seats looked better.
